| perfect edition this is the perfect and beautiful edition for this all time classic!! By zl11969 (BAGNOLO ,ITALY) |
| excellent handling of an all time classic Casablanca movie According to Lauren Bacall, this movie is considered by many, to be the second best movie of all time. Although she doesn't say so, I'm sure Citizen Kane is in the number one slot. Considering the status placed on this film you would expect a certain amount of respect in the releasing of this movie. I felt that this release does not disappoint. It includes many behind the scenes interviews and shots that have become common on DVD releases. What makes this special, is that you don't generally get this kind of background on a film that is over 60 years old. While many of the sound tracks for the extras were lost many years ago, it is fascinating to see what has been saved after all this time. It also is an insight into the acting craft and how it was viewed at that time in watching the outtakes. All time great movie and an excellent DVD release. By a reviewer (Los Angeles, Ca. U.S.A.) | More enjoyable than ever. I saw Casablanca a few times as a child on a small tv screen and it was so enjoyable. Today, on my large flat screen it is so much more enjoyable with crisp audio and sharp images. If you love Classic movies you need to have this one. The service from CD Universe was,as usual, excellent for me. By v32er (Belize) This review is for a different format. |
| "Better than I expected" Casablanca is such a great movie! I got a chance to watch this old classic with my mom on a Saturday night and I was not expecting this movie to be great. Casablanca isn't about the romance; it's about everything that happens in the WWII setting. Great acting, great story, and great music. I recommend everyone to watch this movie! Watch the movie and fall in love with what it has to offer! By Deangelo (Colorado Springs, CO, USA) This review is for a different format. |
| One of the greatest classic movies. Not to be missed. Captured the greatest moments of the forties Hollywood with the top stars and almost every one of the great character actors of that era: Peter Lorre, Claude Rains, Conrad Veidt, Sidney Greenstreet.
