Robbie Coltrane, Rene Russo, Alan Cumming, Paul Reubens, Irma P. Hall, John Aylward - Dir:Caroline Thompson Rene Russo stars as eccentric socialite Gertrude "Trudy" Lintz, who adopts a baby gorilla into her already-bustling animal menagerie. Along with chimpanzees Maggie and Joe, Buddy gets into all kinds of hilarious monkey business and proceeds to drive everyone bananas. A delightful family adventure based on a remarkable true story featuring amazing effects courtesy of Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

A gentle, family-oriented dramatization of the autobiography ("Animals Are My Hobby") of daffy Gertrude Lintz (Rene Russo,) a softhearted, softheaded 1920s New York socialite who transformed her upstate mansion into a personal menagerie containing cats, dogs, birds, chimps, and the titular baby gorilla, all of whom were trained to wear clothing and behave as humans. Produced by the Jim Henson Company.

Set in 1962; Produced and released in 1973. AMERICAN GRAFFITI presents a powerful collage of youth on the brink of maturity just before the assassination of J.F.K.. Based on George Lucas's own teenage hot-rodding days in Modesto, California, this brilliant, bittersweet comedy inspired numerous other productions, including the long-running TV series HAPPY DAYS. Lucas's second feature film (following THX 1138), AMERICAN GRAFFITI contains an early screen appearance by Harrison Ford, who would figure heavily in the director's next movie, the sci-fi epic STAR WARS. The film follows one night in the lives of several recently graduated high school students. The genial Steve (Ron Howard) prepares to leave for college the next day, and Laurie (Cindy Williams), his girlfriend, is upset by his impending departure. Laurie's brother, Curt (Richard Dreyfuss), the class intellectual, is also slated for college, but he has serious doubts about his future. Also included here are the hopeless nerd (Charles Martin Smith) and the eternally cool drag racer, John (Paul LeMat), who feels pressure to live up to his reputation. A nostalgic feeling is evoked in seeing the teenagers cruising in their hot rods, eating at Mel's Diner, and listening to Wolfman Jack spin the latest hits, with the camera jumping from character to character as they each enjoy--or fret over--their last moments of summer freedom. With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination of frank subject matter with cynical humor--Altman immediately vaulted himself to Hollywood's upper ranks. Based on the novel by Richard Hooker, M*A*S*H follows a group of Mobile Army Surgical Hospital officers as they perform surgery and pass the time just miles from the front lines of the Korean conflict. Led by sardonic captains "Hawkeye" Pierce (Donald Sutherland) and "Trapper" John McIntyre (Elliott Gould), the film has the feel of an absurd three-ring circus. Other characters include the uptight nurse "Hot Lips" O'Houlihan (Sally Kellerman), the confused Major Frank Burns (Robert Duvall), the troubled Captain "Painless" Waldowski (John Shuck), and the simpleminded Captain "Duke" Forrest (Tom Skerritt). Altman's decision to present his film as a series of loosely connected vignettes rather than a traditionally unfolding narrative perfectly captures the freewheeling spirit so unique to early-'70s cinema. Though it aired for only one season as part of THE SUPER MARIO BROS. SHOW, the classic 1980s cartoon series THE LEGEND OF ZELDA remains a nostalgic highlight of Reagan-era animation. Based on the popular Nintendo video game of the same name, the syndicated series follows the superhero adventures of a young swordsman named Link as he fights to protect the beautiful Princess Zelda (named by game creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, for writer F. Scott Fitzgerald's famous wife) from the evil clutches of the wizard Ganon in the magical kingdom of Hyrule. Deviating from its video-game source material by injecting comedy and romance into the action/fantasy/sci-fi mix, the animated series is presented in its entirety with this 13-episode collection.
