David Paymer, Kimberly Elise, Jamie Foxx, David Morse, Robert Pastorelli, Doug Hutchison - Dir:Antoine Fuqua The hip and popular star of "The Jamie Foxx Show" and "Any Given Sunday" hits the mark as an unsuccessful small-time crook who becomes the unsuspecting "bait" in the Fed's attempt to catch a murderous high-tech thief. Antoine Fuqua's follow-up to 1998's THE REPLACEMENT KILLERS is a tense action-thriller with a healthy dose of comedy. Jamie Foxx stars as Alvin Sanders, a petty thief who ends up serving jail time after he is caught stealing prawns from a seafood warehouse. His cellmate, John Jaster (Robert Pastorelli), is one of two men who pulled off a miraculous heist at the Federal Gold Reserve in New York City. Just before Jaster dies of a heart attack, he gives Alvin vague instructions to share with his wife, which may or may not reveal the location of the stolen gold. U.S. Treasury Department chief investigator Edgar Clenteen (David Morse) is convinced that Alvin is the only link to Jaster's invisible partner, Bristol (Doug Hutchison). In order to locate Bristol, Clenteen implants a state-of-the-art tracking device into Alvin's jaw and releases him from prison without telling him the real reason why. When Alvin reunites with his girlfriend, Lisa (Kimberly Elise), he finds that she now has a son to which he is the father. He soon learns the genuine cause for his release, thrusting him into a dangerous world of mystery and murder. In order to save his wife and child, Alvin must cooperate with the evil Bristol and help him locate the gold. Theatrical release: September 15, 2000
Shot on location in New York City and Toronto, Canada.

Bait Reviews: "...[A] meticulously polished visual presentation....A nocturnal, dreamy Manhattan landscape that's all chrome, black and midnight blue..."
-- Dennis Harvey, Variety "...BAIT is a deadpan action comedy with a little Hitchcock, a little Bond and lot of attitude. It's funny and clever, and it grows on you..."

$12.85 The feature film debut of Hayao Miyazaki (NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, PRINCESS MONONOKE), THE CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO depicts one adventure of the master thief Lupin and his rough-around-the-edges gunman, Jigen. Something of a cross between Batman, James Bond, and Cary Grant's character in TO CATCH A THIEF, Lupin is a suave ladies' man who is also given to feats of athletic daring, aided by a gadget filled belt that gets him out of more than a few scrapes. The plot has Lupin and Jigen traveling to the sleepy little country of Cagliostro and coming to the aid of the unwilling fiance of the diabolical Count Cagliostro. After CAGLIOSTRO, Miyazaki stopped creating "slapstick" ...

$9.85 Clint Eastwood teams up with some old friends to make SPACE COWBOYS, a rollicking motion picture that wraps action, comedy, and science fiction into one neat package. Eastwood plays Frank Corvin, a former air force pilot who was shunned from flying into space in 1958 after NASA was created. Forty years later, when a Russian satellite appears to be headed for a collision with Earth, Corvin finally gets his chance. He bribes his archrival Bob Gerson (James Cromwell) into letting his team go into space to repair the satellite, on the condition that they pass the physical. However, passing the physical isn't so easy for aging veterans Jerry O'Neil (Donald Sutherland), Tank Sullivan (James Garner), and Hawk Hawkins (Tommy Lee Jones), who, while still mentally sharp, aren't in the best of physical shape. Nonetheless, they manage to fill all the requirements. Ignoring the two cocky upstarts who have been sent along to back them up, the old-timers blast off and head straight for the satellite. But when they get there, the realization that the satellite is actually carrying six nuclear warheads changes the course of the mission, endangering the lives of the astronauts as well as the citizens of America. With exceptional special effects and a breezy tone, SPACE COWBOYS is one ...

$6.95 Between 1979 and 1981, 31 African American children were murdered in or around the city of Atlanta, GA. When the murders began, they were not thoroughly investigated by the police, who could not have realized that what started out as two seemingly unrelated deaths would turn into something much worse. Throughout 1980 and 1981, a number of different teams of investigators tried to track down the killer, often doing work that the Police neglected to do themselves, and, after an extensive search, found a suspect named Wayne Williams who became the center of one of the most controversial trials of the 1980s. A flaky young man who was a well known pathological liar, Williams was prosecuted, even though there was no hard evidence linking him to the crime, and found guilty.
This film is the story of two journalists from Spin magazine, Pat Laughlin and Ron Larson (Belushi & Hines), who return to Atlanta four years after the trial to uncover what went wrong during the investigation of the case and the conviction of Wayne Williams. The two dig up a host of troubling facts including proof that investigators altered evidence, abandoned ...

Soon the paranoid, strawberry-loving Captain Queeg (Humprey Bogart) takes charge and tries to clean up the ship, arousing the hatred and suspicion of the other officers, especially a flippant lieutenant (Fred MacMurray). Eventually the men stage ...
