Purchase Echo Der Liebe CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Israel Iz Kamakawiwo'Ole Alone In Iz World CD (2001)
Echo Der Liebe songs
$13.29 While the name Israel Kamakawiwo'ole falls trippingly off few tongues, the Hawaiian singer better known as "Iz" was one of the biggest stars in his home state. Iz first came to public attention as a member of the popular Hawaiian group known as the Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau. His subsequent solo career brought even greater fame, and countless fans were saddened at his untimely death in 1997. Those who mourn his passing will be gladdened by the posthumous release of ALONE IN IZ WORLD, compiled from various recording session outtakes.
While one might expect a big, deep sound to emanate from a gargantuan-sized body like that of Iz, the hefty singer actually possessed a gorgeous, fragile tenor voice ...
| | Best Of The Guess Who CD (1971) Bonus Tracks
Echo Der Liebe album
$6.79 (MP3 Available for Download) The Guess Who always seemed a bit like the Canadian predecessor/counterpart to Grand Funk Railroad, but they typically fared far better with the critics because of the versatility that they possessed. That trait is very evident on this collection of hits and great songs. From the opening "These Eyes," with its orchestral strings and Zombies-like baroque pop feel to the classic AOR crunge of "American Woman," the Guess Who played a wide variety of music. It is sometimes hard to believe that the same group that ...
| | Dead Can Dance Aion CD (1990) Reissue; Special Edition
Echo Der Liebe CD music
$11.99 The music of Dead Can Dance has long been a favorite of the "Goth" crowd; however, AION is really the first one of the band's records that can actually be called Gothic in the classic, renaissance sense. Arguably Dead Can Dance's most successful record, it contains the band's most consistent set of songs since SPLEEN AND IDEAL. Widening their view to encompass more of the ancient world than with earlier records, Dead Can Dance explore styles from Northern Europe ("The Song of the Sibyl") to the Middle East ("Radharc"), with stops along the way at a number of other surprising locations.
The fact that it is based on a 16th-century ...

| | Eek-A-Mouse U-Neek CD (1991)
Echo Der Liebe songs
$9.15 (MP3 Available for Download) In the 1980s, Eek-A-Mouse (a quirky, eccentric toaster/singer) made significant contributions to dubwise, which evolved into the more abrasive dancehall style associated with Shabba Ranks, Nardo Ranks and Lt. Stitchie. Essentially, toasters like Mouse are reggae's equivalent of rappers, although dub was around long before hip-hop emerged in the late '70s. U-Neek finds the distinctive Mouse incorporating hip-hop touches here and there without becoming as forceful as the dancehall artists he influenced. Most of this CD -- which ranges "Gangster Chronicles" (a number that finds him adding lyrics to the theme from The Godfather) and the troubling "Rude Boys a Foreign" to a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Dyer Maker" -- is fairly melodic. Despite the presence of rappers Daddy-O and D-Nice, ...
| | Mary Timony Mountains CD (2000)
Echo Der Liebe album
$13.89 Perhaps the most profound difference between Mary Timony's solo debut and her work with Helium lies in the former's sparseness. The songs' basic structures and tenor are the same, but where ...

| | Krishna Das All One CD (2005)
Echo Der Liebe music CDs
$13.65 Countless fans have been introduced to Krishna Das through yoga classes, where his soothing rhythmic chants, preformed in a deep, rich timbre, complement instruction on the spiritual element of the exercise. Only those students inclined toward extra credit, though, are likely to know that the former Jeffrey "K.D." Kagel, renamed Krishna Das after years of studying alongside his guru, Mahara ji, in India, is a one-time rock singer from Long Island, N.Y.
All One, Krishna's ninth CD, delivers inward-looking listeners that much closer to recognizing the chant master's unlikely background on their own, though. Essentially an hour-long melodic recitation of the name Hare Krishna set to accompaniment that ranges from Indian to classical to rock in style, the disc makes use of several rock & roll heavy hitters. Co-produced with Walter Becker (Steely Dan), Jay Messina (Aerosmith), and David Nichtern (who wrote "Midnight at the Oasis"), All One finds Becker on bass, Nichtern on guitar, and Def Leppard's Rick Allen on drums. Which accounts for why, even on more sedate tracks, a certain rock energy seeps through. That Krishna Das manages that influence without allowing the disc to become a mongrelized slab of meditation-lite -- it's quite listenable in a head-clearing sort of way -- is a testament, maybe, to the concept that his burnished, entrancing voice comes from a place ...

$18.39 | | Voxtrot Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives CD (2006) Extended Play
Echo Der Liebe songs
$9.35 On their second CD EP, the Austin-based five-piece band Voxtrot take the 1980s sounds of U.K. bands like the Smiths, the Beautiful South, and Aztec Camera, and pair them with subtly psychedelic influences in an exuberant blend of 21st century chic and pop savvy.
With one foot in the library and the other on the dancefloor, Voxtrot combine classic 60's pop (think Love ...
| | Kathryn Taubert Where Can I Go Without You? CD (2007)
Echo Der Liebe album
$10.15 When was the last time you walked into an intimate dinner club, stopped by a piano bar, or danced in the aisles of a big band performance where the "girl singer" performed tunes that made you wonder "What ever happened to this kind of music and when can I hear it again?" The music Kathryn Taubert sings appeals to anyone who ever identified with lyrics that told a story, evoked a memory, brought a laugh or a tear to your eye, or made you want to dance. Kathryn ...
