| | Frankie Avalon Venus CD - Import Frankie Avalon Discography of CDs
De Lite's version of Frankie Avalon's greatest hits collects 22 tracks that provide only adequate representation of the former 1950s teen idol. While two versions of Avalon's biggest hit, "Venus," are included, neither is the original hit recording, but the disco versions! This collection leaves off several hits, including "De de Dinah," "Why," "Beach Party," and "Don't Stop Now." Unfortunately what is included are re-recorded tracks and cover versions that should be avoided. If you're looking for the original versions of "Venus," "The New Old Days," and "Take Time to Know Her," pick up 25 All-Time Greatest Hits on Varese. ~ Al Campbell

Venus album
$11.19 Often, supergroups wind up dominated by one particular personality - think Eric Clapton in Derek & the Dominos, Jack White in the Raconteurs -- which makes the egalitarianism of Them Crooked Vultures all the more remarkable. Of course, when it comes down to it, it's a group of three natural-born collaborators: John Paul Jones, the old studio pro who gravitated toward provocative partners after Led Zeppelin's demise, teaming up with R.E.M. as easily as he did with avant-queen Diamanda Galas and nu-folkster Sara Watkins; Dave Grohl, who hopped into an empty drummer's chair whenever the opportunity presented itself; and Josh Homme, who set up a mini-empire based entirely on jam sessions. If Them Crooked Vultures brings to mind Homme's projects more than Grohl's or Jones', it's largely due to his role as lead vocalist and how guitar can push a rhythm section as powerful as this to the side, dominating with its grinding riffs and solos. Homme's predilection for precision does reign supreme -- when the group stretches ...
| | Rosanne Cash List CD (2009)
Venus CD music
$14.45 After the dark and chilling themes of 2006's BLACK CADILLAC, which saw Rosanne Cash dealing with the deaths of her mother, Vivian Liberto, her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash -- all of whom passed within a two-year span -- one might assume that her next project would move into an even deeper level of bleakness, but with THE LIST, it's immediately clear that she has instead found a more measured place to stand. It's a lovely and redemptive outing that looks back to go forward. When Cash turned 18, her father, alarmed that his daughter only knew the songs that were getting played on the radio, gave her a list of what he considered 100 essential American songs; Cash kept that list, and now she's drawn on it for this wonderfully nuanced outing that brims with a kind of redemptive timelessness. THE LIST is a renewal and a testament to life, and it belongs to her father as much as it belongs to her, a beautiful restatement of her ...

$49.49 Recorded live at Madison Square Garden, New York, New York on November 27-28, 1969.
Returning to the American concert scene after a three-year layoff, the Rolling Stones recorded GET YER YA-YA'S OUT! during a triumphant two-date stand at Madison Square Garden in late November 1969 that found B.B. King and Ike & Tina Turner opening for them. Having amassed an impressive recorded output during their three years away from touring, the Stones peppered their sets with hits, including "Honky Tonk Women," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," and "Street Fighting Man." Tipping their collective hats to Chuck Berry, the band also included covers of "Carol" and "Little Queenie" alongside more blues-influenced numbers such as "Stray Cat Blues" and "Love In Vain."

| | Adam Zampino Piano In Motion-Solo Piano CD (2008)
Venus album
$11.39 Piano. Just the word conjures up images of music and dancing fingers. Motion. Freedom of movement. As such, Adam captures the freedom of dancing fingers eloquently on this piano album with wonderfully crafted pieces, each composed during its performance.NOW, YOU HEAR FULL SAMPLES OF ALL OF THE SONGS ON THIS ALBUM AT ZAMPIANO.COM (upper left corner of the home page)!!----------------------------------------------PIANO IN MOTION is a collection of solo piano performances recorded in mid-December of 2007 (collection titled IN MOTION) and in March of 2008 (collection titled JOY IN MOTION). The songs were carefully arranged on this album to keep the album moving along while bringing the listener on a musical journey from song to song. Although the pieces are instrumental, the melodies are catchy and lyrical. As a listener, you may find yourself singing along, using words that the piano sings to you. Enjoy ;)----------------------------------------------From Adam: "I love performing on the piano because it is able to not only capture the expression of the performance, but also it allows me to perform completely developed compositions. Without using words, the piano can tell stories and take you on amazing journeys."Music is meant for the soul to enjoy, capturing the essence of the emotion of the performance. To start enjoying the music here, select a sample song from the list.----------------------------------------------The songs/compositions are the following:1. In Her Eyes (3:05) - Simple and sweet, but not insignificant.2. Longing For Rain (3:52) - This solemn piece has power in its phrasing. The melody called for the song's name.3. In Motion (2:55) - Inspired by old southern blues piano, this piece keeps moving with some fun riffs and phrases.4. Joy In Motion (3:36) - Originally conceived in 1999 as part of the Etched In Stone project, this song was finally completed as part of this project. A nicely constructed fun piece that moves along.5. Walk In The Country (3:47) - This piece keeps moving along, as though taking a walk in the country. The melody calls for its name.6. Distance Between (2:46) - A fully improvised solemn piece that develops at it progresses.7. Pondering Tomorrow (2:52) - Nice moments captured during the improvised performance of this simple composition.8. The Joy Within (3:36) - This song lifts the spirits as it moves along.9. Blue Shift (2:54) - Rhythmically interesting, yet improvised throughout, this piece develops as it flows.10. Letting Go (2:51) - Tension builds during the verse sections, only to be released during the chorus sections. Nice rhythmic progressions.11. Treading Freedom (5:17) - A dark piece with moving improvised sections.12. Full Deck Shuffle (2:44) - Although this upbeat piece is instrumental, it is lyrical in nature.13. Taking It Slowly (4:21) - An improvised, moderately slow somber piece full of expression.14. Delicate Glow (3:11) - Slow ...
