(10 Customer Reviews)
This CD allows the discovery of a typical Italian band of seven members (double keyboards, double guitars, Italian vocals, bass, and drums). The style is a symphonic rock with arrangements and developments that make the most out of a rich and varied instrumentation. The delicate melodic work, shared by vocals, keyboards, guitars, and flute, is supported by dynamic rhythms to create a sound that alternates from acoustic to electric. This CD is a fine piece of work. No one in the band stands out, but even with few solos, the music is intricate, melodic, and enjoyable. In other words, the entire musical piece and atmosphere is primary; standout solos are minimal. For that reason, upon first listen, you might want to pass the music off as uninteresting. This is another one of those albums that you have to listen to several times to fully appreciate the melodic interplay. ~ Cesar Lanzarini

Forse Le Lucciole Non Si
$20.09 Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso's 1973 album LO SONO NATO LIBERO contains five tracks including "La Citta'sottile," "Non Mi Rompete," and "Traccia Li."
Banco del Mutuo Soccorso's third LP, Io Sono Nato Libero, was released only a few months after the impressive Darwin!, and featured the same lineup (brothers Vittorio and Gianni Nocenzi on keyboards, Rodolfo Maltese on guitar, Pierluigi Calderoni on drums, Renato d'Angelo on bass, and Francesco Di Giacomo on vocals). It yielded one classic track, "Non Mi Rompete," a beautiful Italian ballad that would be part of the band's set list for the rest of its life. Another important track is "Traccia II," which develops the musical idea found at the end of the 1971 LP Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. Music history may have preserved these ...

| | Ange Au Dela Du Delire CD (1975)
Forse Le Lucciole Non Si
$10.49 With two studio recordings under their belt (the 1972 Caricatures and the 1973 Le Cimetière des Arlequins), Ange struck artistic gold with Au-Delà du Délire. All the elements came together this time, producing France's best symphonic progressive rock album of the 1970s. Christian Decamps' medieval imagery (echoed in the music by occasional minstrel-type folk song structures) is assisted this time around by Biblical themes, something noticeable in the song titles. His voice is not the only center of attention anymore, as instrumental passages take more room and arrangements become more intricate. "Exode" actually takes off when the verse is over and the guitar and Mellotron start working on an instrumental crescendo. The pastoral "Ballade Pour Une Orgie" ("Ballad for an Orgy") is the ...
| | Porcupine Tree In Absentia CD (2002)
Forse Le Lucciole Non Si
$8.59 There's a breed of (post-1980s) bands with the same degree of grand rock experimentalism as Pink Floyd and Yes, who simultaneously adhere to the concept of concise songwriting. Porcupine Tree is one such band--their sound is a balance of lush ambient textures, charming vocal harmonies, rock & roll directness, and acoustically- and electronically-generated sounds. Their debut IN ABSENTIA shows all ...

| | DJ Rhettmatic Exclusive Collection CDs (2004)
Forse Le Lucciole Non Si
$14.09 Disc 2 is a continuous in-the-mix CD compiled and mixed by DJ Rhettmatic.
Japan's Manhattan Records (a record store and distribution company) and Los Angeles' Up Above Records present one CD of new and exclusive tracks that get mixed together by DJ Rhettmatic on the second disc. Maybe the cover art makes the former Beat Junkie look like he's a lot more involved with Exclusive Collection than he is, but if that's what it takes to get these great tracks to people's ears, so be it. Disc one is filled with highlights. Plenty of hip-hoppers hate when producer Tony Touch picks up the mike, but "We See Y'All" is one of the great, freewheeling things that happens when he does and a perfect cut for the Rhettmatic mix. Rhettmatic's crew, the Visionaries, offer up a thrilling ride on "Hindsight," with rapper ...
