| | Sparks Best Of CD - Import Sparks Discography of CDs
This best-of collection gathers 21 tracks by Christian act Sparks. Recorded in the 1970s and '80s, the songs on THE BEST OF SPARKS include "Beat The Clock," "La Dolce Vita," and "Young Girls."
The duo of Russell and Ron Mael have had such a long and varied career since forming the first lineup of Sparks (then known as Halfnelson) in their native Los Angeles in 1968 that no single-disc anthology can contain a full history. Indeed, this set omits the two odd art rock records that original lineup released in the early 1970s, starting with their breakthrough 1973 classic "This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both of Us." From there, the brothers' '70s and '80s explorations of glam, disco, and new wave synth pop are neatly covered in 21 tracks.
21 of the best from the brothers Mael who are still producing their own brand of quirky, fun, dance pop. All the classics including, 'The Number One Song In Heaven', 'I Predict', 'Cool Places' (feat. Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Gos), 'Tips For Teens', 'Eaten By The Monster Of Love', 'All You Ever Think About Is Sex', 'Angst In My Pants' and more. The perfect party soundtrack for people of a certain age. 2000 release. Standard Jewelcase. Best Of Review

Best Of CD music
$12.59 "Next Big Thing" won the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance.
This album's title is an ironic one, since Vince Gill has spent plenty of time as the Big Thing in country music. He started out as a hot-pickin' bluegrass guitarist before going solo in the mid-'80s. Some 20 years down the line, Gill has nothing to prove but still plenty to say. ...
| | J J Cale To Tulsa And Back CD (2004)
Best Of music CDs
$12.59 On his first studio outing in eight years, the mythical Okie troubadour turns in a solid set of his trademark dusty blues tunes. What is not so typical, as with Travel Log from 1990, is that Cale steeps himself in technology and evokes the moods and frameworks of music that intersect with the blues or stand in opposition to them. The keyboards, drum loops, and horns on this record are as pervasive as the guitars. Needless to say, this requires an attitude ...

| | Nancy Wilson Great American Songbook CDs (2005) Remastered
Best Of CD music
$17.89 One of three excellent Nancy Wilson compilations issued simultaneously by Capitol Jazz in 2005, THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK cherry-picks from the many standards that the pop/jazz vocalist recorded for the label between 1959 and '69. Here the often-underrated singer, who delicately balances emotion and clear enunciation, works with ensembles both large and small, and her various collaborators include conductor Billy May, saxophonist Cannonball Adderley, bassist Ron Carter, and pianists George Shearing, Hank Jones, and Joe Zawinul.
Just a few highlights of this collection are a rollicking big-band rendition of "What a Little Moonlight Can Do," a sauntering take on the Harold Arlen/Truman Capote-penned "Sleepin' Bee," and a gorgeously minimal version of ...
