Living On Video album
$7.59 With the emphasis on retro-'70s kitsch, the soundtrack to THE FULL MONTY offers up a plate of chestnuts that will bring a sense of deja vu to listeners who grew up with '70s AM radio. There's the quirky, irresistibly funky Hot Chocolate tune "You Sexy Thing," Donna Summer's lascivious "Hot Stuff," the Sister Sledge anthem "We Are Family." For that postmodern touch, there's Tom Jones covering Randy Newman (presumably via Joe Cocker) on "You Can Leave Your Hat On," which fits nicely with the libidinous theme of the rest of the material.
Includes liner notes by Anne Dudley.
Personnel: Mel Wesson (drum programming).

Living On Video CD music
$23.39 In this heralded French terror classic by director-screenwriter Henri-Georges Clouzot, the wife of the headmaster of a school for boys tires of his violent treatment of her, along with his philandering, and teams up with his mistress (Simone Signoret) to drown him and make it appear as a suicide. When the body goes missing and sightings of the supposedly dead man are reported all over town, the two mismatched women must uncover what happened to the body before it's discovered what they've done. Upon its release, Clouzot urged all who saw the film not to reveal its surprise ending--- one which still stands as one of the original "shock" endings. The restored version includes 16 minutes of recently found footage.

$58.59 A deluxe, multi-volume chronicle of the complete history of the Beatles, THE BEATLES ANTHOLOGY is the definitive documentary, featuring 10 hours of footage culled from interviews, live concerts, studio sessions, feature films, home movies and more. Twenty-five years after the Beatles' breakup, Paul, George, and Ringo reunited to offer new perspectives on their lives and their bitter 1970 separation. ANTHOLOGY traces the roots of the group with striking archival footage and photographs. The collection offers a wealth of unreleased early Beatles material, some of it long presumed lost and some previously available only on bootlegs--from pre-Ringo practice sessions to early-'60s tracks with fabbed-up versions of pop standards like "Ain't She Sweet" and "Besame Mucho." The live side of the band is well represented too, by such unforgettable items as Ringo tearing through "I Wanna Be Your Man" and "Boys" at a 1964 TV taping, and John ripping into "Twist & Shout" at the band's 1963 Royal Command Performance.
The DVD release contains all 8 original video programs on 4 DVD's with enhanced video quality and Dolby Digital 5.1 ...

Living On Video songs
$12.59 In the aftermath of punk, the early 1980s saw many earnest young men picking up keyboards, adopting a deadpan demeanor, and selling millions of records in the process. Soft Cell stood apart from the pack, however, by combining some tongue-in-cheek performances with seedy imagery from the sex-strewn streets of London's Soho. Charismatic singer Marc Almond was clearly born to be a star, and struck up a lucrative musical partnership with keyboard player Dave Ball, producing songs such as "Say Hello Wave Goodbye," "Bedsitter," and their infamous cover of the Northern Soul classic "Tainted Love." This release offers a selection of their music videos, with all the aforementioned titles included, as well as "Memorabilia," "Frustration," "What," and many others.
This DVD is a visual accompaniment to Soft Cell during the pinnacle of their career around 1982. The songs are taken from both the ...
| | Nomi Song DVD (2005) Widescreen
Living On Video album
$17.35 Known throughout the 1980s as a cult figure on the New Wave scene, Klaus Nomi managed to perfectly marry disparate worlds such as rock, pop, opera, and performance art. Nomi lit-up the underground throughout the '80s with his bizarre and freakish appearance, and had a penchant for twisting his counter tenor vocals around a hook-laden pop song. His fanbase grew, and it looked as if Nomi's star was on a collision course with the mainstream. But the fun came to a desperately tragic end when Nomi succumbed to the dark spectre of AIDS. The disease which ended the lives of so many artists in this turbulent decade callously claimed another victim, and the dream came to an abrupt, hurtful end.
Director Andrew Horn draws on a mixture of vintage footage and celebrity testimonials to flesh out Nomi's tale in this documentary, offering a moving portrait of an artist who strived for originality, and was cruelly plucked from the world just as his dreams of bursting into the mainstream looked set to be fulfilled. Ultimately, THE NOMI SONG is an inspiring depiction of an artist who enlivened those around him with his infectious enthusiasm and lust for life. Far from being a forlorn tale of what might have been, Horn's film is a joyous celebration of an unsurpassable, idiosyncratic figure who poured everything into his art during a brief, yet productive tenure on the planet.
Part documentary, part music film, part sci-fi, this film is a fascinating and incredibly visual non-fiction film and audio history of the 1980s New Wave Underground cult figure. Included is music by Wire, The Marbles, The Bongos, Pylon, The Mumps, Chi Pig, Kristian Hoffman, Sirone, ...

$14.45 Working in various studios across the uk and in berlin, mickey's sound takes inspiration from all the many projects in which he has been involved. He has played in the bands of acts like gonzales, mocky and jamie lidell. His fresh new approach to hip hop manages to pay homage to the old school sounds that inspired him in the first place and yet breaks all other boundaries you thought you knew. His love for soul, jazz and turntablism cannot be missed; holding down most of the beats with a scratch, he finds harmony between choir vocalists, childlike recorder and xylophone riffs, turntable melodies and super sub sonics. His playful lyrical style and technical concepts have been taken seriously by various collaborators in the studio and ...
