Beaubourg album for sale Product Description
Beaubourg album for sale by Vangelis was released Jan 06, 2009 on the Windham Hill label. A great dark synthesized tone poem inspired by the Beauborg Cathedral. | Avant-Garde-ism Two tracks and not a melody in sight. This is a brave and wonderfully avant-garde album by Vangelis, who has always been a master synthesis but herein proves it by concerning himself with sound above song. There is no melody, no rhythm, no beat, no real music at all here. This is just synthetic sound being played almost as if improvised. Certainly no single phrase is continued any longer than a minute. This, however, is what "synthesis" is all about; it is the creation of sound. Anyone who claims to be a synthesist should take the time to create his/her own sounds, otherwise they're really not synthesizing at all; they are merely using synthesized sounds, so the actual work was done by someone else. A very good album, if you can handle avant-garde. By a reviewer (New York City, NY) This review is for a different format. |
| Cerebral Vengelis's "Invisible" album is even better for this approach to sound creation. By a reviewer (Providence, RI, USA) This review is for a different format. |
