All songs written by members of Wakeman With Wakeman, except "Paint It Black" (Mick Jagger/Keith Richards).
Wakeman With Wakeman is where both Rick and son Adam collaborate to create some outstanding keyboard music, heavily layered and intelligently catapulted forward with energy and instrumental brilliance. Even the piano work is becoming, fusing the talents of both generations together and creating some fully charged pieces of pure keyboard playing. With barely any percussion or strings, the Wakemans dominate ten different types of synthesizers and keyboards, combining both intricate and simplistic playing styles across a vast range of rhythms and rock tempos. The power of the Korg and Hammond organ is best applied on "Sync or Swim" and on the turbulent "Megalomania," as the intensity of the synthesizers are kept controlled and expertly piloted throughout the course of the song's duration. A version of the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" is performed as well, with the crescendoed solo played by Adam Wakeman in a clean and pleasingly thrift fashion, but the resemblances are miles apart. Overall, the album stands as a straightforward concordance of keyboard work, showcasing the skills of both musicians. If the purpose of Wakeman With Wakeman is to demonstrate the flexibility of the keyboard, then it fulfills its intentions meticulously. ~ Mike DeGagne
Recorded at Bajonor Studios, Isle Of Man, England in September and October, 1992.

| | Poco Forgotten Trail (1969-1974) CDs (1990)
Wakeman With Wakeman CD music
$15.99 This compilation contains 38 songs, including many new remixes from original master tapes, 6 previously unreleased songs, alternate versions of 3 others, and a comprehensive 36 page booklet, with historic liner notes and photos.
This excellent two-disc collection captures Poco's finest moments from the days when they were laying down the template for all the country-rock music that was to follow. It's hard to remember, but when the Eagles first hit the scene, they were thought by many to be a Poco-wannabe band. Listen to this set and you'll hear why. The Forgotten Trail (1969-1974) culls tracks from Poco's first eight albums, as well as unreleased cuts and singles. From the classic ...

Recording information: Aquarius Theater, Hollywood, CA (07/21/1969).

Live in Hollywood: Highlights from the Aquarius Theater is, as its title suggests, a ten-track single-CD distillation of the two sets the Doors performed at the Aquarius Theater on July 21, 1969. Both shows are likewise available in their entirety on the band's own Bright Midnight Records label. This sampler accurately captures the underlying tensions and languid spirit that kept these shows under wraps for over three decades. It is this very palpable, impending vibe that allowed the band to perform ...
| | Throttlerod Nail CD (2006)
Wakeman With Wakeman songs
$11.99 Following the both curious and revelatory stylistic detour provided by the previous year's largely acoustic and country-fried Starve the Dead EP, Richmond, VA's Throttlerod resumed their usual heavy rock stock-in-trade for a third full-length album with a nondescript title, 2006's Nail. And how: over the course of ten songs and 40-odd minutes, the trio wastes ...
