The genre needs all the new creative energies it can muster from ensembles like Under the Lake, which balances its smooth pop ideas with rougher edges bordering on rough fusion. The San Diego band's second release Up For Air has a rhythmic easiness to it that their more aggressive debut lacked, and this sort of subtlety goes a long way towards establishing a sound that's both radio friendly and artistically intriguing. The title summarizes the effect perfectly, as there is finally room to breathe in between the passages of intense virtuosity. And yet, even if the basic tunes are less complex, there are sections of cool gems like "Natalie" and "Las Reinas" where solo invention takes over for simply soulful grooves. Leading the charge is electric guitar fancyman David Harris, but Jayson Tipp, who doubles on keyboards and smoky jazz trumpet, achieves his share of the synergy. Guesting on sax and making for an agreeable counterpoint to the hairpin turns are Jeff Kashiwa and Hollis Gentry. ~ Jonathan Widran

.........Intro:Coming from the US Virgin Islands, but based in Bermuda, Khadijo presents "After All This Time..." This album has a unique blend of Classical, Hip-Hop, Latin, Dub Reggae, and Electronic music. Khadijo is blessed with an extraordinary vision of music, and talent that extends to three instruments- piano, congas and xylophone..........A Brief History: Like the first line says,.. "coming from the US Virgin Islands", specfically St. Croix. Khadijo started to learn the piano at the ripe age of 5. At about 10, Khadijo began to learn church organ music, which opened the doors to private parochial academic education, and more music concentration in the disciplines of accompanying, and choral directing. By the time Khadijo became 18 he left St.Croix to study music professionally in North Carolina. Seeking a change, Khadijo entered US military service, which lead to the completion of his music education and obtaining a degree. From that point on Khadijo was on a quest to produce his own music, which lead to a relationship with Triptych Music Group, a Pennsylvania based music production team. From there, life outside of the US lead to Khadijo finding his own sound to produce the album...AFTER ALL THIS TIME..........Song Summary:The enlightment begins with the song "A Real Love" this is a bubbling marital groove of Reggae and Jazz. The guitars harmonically blend nicely over the soulful grooves of the bass. "Lush Motif" and "Rock Bottom" fall within the dance and electronic genre, so get ready to dance.
