| | Travis Tritt No More Looking Over My Shoulder CD (1998)
Greatest Hits: Finest Performances music CDs
$5.95 The impressive title track paints a portrait of an angry, lonely man who finally learns how to knock the chip off his shoulder. The bookend is the outstanding closer "The Road To You," a testament to the healing power of a good woman's love. In between, Tritt shows he can still get rowdy, with barn-burning rockers like "Rough Around the Edges," and the desperate "Start the Car." He also delivers a great rendition of Springsteen's "Tougher Than the Rest." But his heart is really in the ballads, like "If I Lost You,"and "I'm All the Man." Overall, Tritt's eighth album is the sound of an artist who's settled down, but still gives in to the urge to howl now and then.
Personnel: Travis Tritt (background vocals); Billy Joe Walker, Jr. (acoustic guitar, electric guitar); Larry Byron, Richard Bennett (acoustic guitar); Jude Cole, Reggie Young , Brent Mason (electric guitar); Paul Franklin, Robby Turner (steel guitar); Rob Hajacos, Aubrey Haynie (fiddle); James R. Greatest Hits: Finest Performances CD music
$36.79 On Fabolous's third studio record, REAL TALK, he claims that there is much more to him than his string of radio-friendly singles might indicate. That's not to say that the New York City rapper doesn't serve up simple, ready-for-radio moments in abundance, but even the first single, "Breathe," with its Supertramp sample and unusual path to a stunning hook, reveals an artist with much more depth.
