The first album by Portland, Oregon's tongue in cheek lounge pop orchestra Pink Martini, SYMPATHIQUE, was originally released in 1997 on the band's own Heinz label. Although the album contains two originals by singer China Forbes and pianist Thomas Lauderdale, the title track and "Lullaby," the bulk of the album's 12 songs consists of new arrangements of loungy favorites like "Never On Sunday," "Que Sera Sera," "Brazil," and "Song of the Black Lizard," taken from the soundtrack of a Japanese cult film. Unlike contemporaries such as Combustible Edison, Pink Martini had the musical chops and heartfelt love of the style to keep the album from descending into snarky kitsch. In 2009, Heinz Records released the first ever vinyl edition of the album.

John Zorn's squawking, post-bop invective brings out Derek Bailey's rowdier side in this popular Knitting Factory date from 1995. "Morning Harras" begins with a reflective prelude, its solemnity underscored by the Mingus-like gravity of Parker's double bass and by Bailey's plangent plucks and stabs. Once Zorn's blowing picks up to full gale-force strength, Bailey seems to be all but mashing his way across the fretboard in response to the saxophonist's hyperbolically articulated lines. "Morning" has broken, and HARRAS rarely lets up from there.

From the very talented group of sisters and brothers "Young and Company" was formed.Diana's writing and producing began to develop. In 1987 Yong and Company hit the charts with their platinum single "I Like (What You're Doing To Me)"Diana along with her younger sister is a former member of the FUNK band "Slave". Diana started playing percussion in an all male band well before there was a Sheila E. After her departure from the band Diana began creating original material for her and various artists.
