Testarda Io album
$6.79 The Guess Who always seemed a bit like the Canadian predecessor/counterpart to Grand Funk Railroad, but they typically fared far better with the critics because of the versatility that they possessed. That trait is very evident on this collection of hits and great songs. From the opening "These Eyes," with ...

| | Beltline These Things You Do At Four A.M. CD (2001)
Testarda Io songs
$8.69 The transition between where you grow up, where you go afterwards and the drama associated with such things. Sometimes pop, sometimes rock, sometimes quiet and sad. Kinda schizo actually, but we think you'll relate.A distant and quivering male voice; guitar-led music; usually sounds small, like you found the music under a rock; often catchy, though not in your typical poppy sense; sometimes fast; always down, down, down... No, this isn't Bright Eyes, but the comparison is unavoidable. Beltline, who hail from Portland, Oregon, have saved some of these tracks since 1998, waiting for the chance to release a CD in the midst of incessant touring.Beltline's sort of music is the small, intimate type that gets you down. It works best when you're listening during one of those post-midnight hours, and you're depressed for some stupid reason. While a good bit of the music is actually upbeat, the lyrics are intimate. It all comes down to what type of person you are; do you see spending twelve bucks for a depressing album as paying to be down, or as finding art that you can relate to? Sad sappy sucker that I am, I reside in the latter camp; this is much more than self-indulgent, pretentious crap. That said, the songs on These Things You Do At Four AM vary quite nicely, from hushed voices to enticing acoustic rhythms, to melodies that would make the Magnetic Fields proud. "Bis Minki", in the spirit of Death Cab For Cutie's "The Face That Launched 1000 Ships", has that nice strobe-light sound, which slows everything down as we hear of the "things you do / 4 am / sounded like a good idea at the time..." "Make-Out Music (For the Emotionally Impaired)", acting as a sort of instrumental intermission, gives us a break from Beltline's outlook on life; it sounds a little like The Sea And Cake's "You Beautiful Bastard", but the song title makes it all the more fun. Other, faster tracks, like "It's Inevitable" and "It Will Break Down", will get ...

Testarda Io music CDs
$17.09 Bobby Martin has been an entertainer since age 17. At an early age he played the vibraphone with several groups around Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. He also played piano and sang. He went to college on a 4 year scholarship and wrote charts for the Kentucky State Jazz Band. He stayed in college for only a year and a half. He then joined the Len Hope Orchestra which eventually took him to Philadelphia on a 5 year contract at the Showboat Club. The Len Hope Orchestra was very popular and packed the house everywhere they went. He enjoyed success with the Band as the vibraphone player. He loved to solo on the instrument and still does so today. He got into the recording business in 1960 as a musician, producer, and arranger. Bobby Martin produced, arranged and played vibes and piano on dozens of big hit records by groups and singers like Patti LaBelle, The Ojays, Billy Paul, The Manhattans, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Teddy Pendergrass, The Three Degrees, Lou Rawls and Nancy Wilson to name a few. Bobby gave Patti La Belle her famous name. He also arranged TSOP the theme song for the popular TV show Soul Train and received a Grammy for the Soul Train arrangement and a Grammy for the production of K-JEE on the Bee Gees Saturday Night Fever sound track album. Critics say his music can be heard every 5 minutes somewhere around ...
| | Ty Segall Lemons CD (2009)
Testarda Io songs
$10.99 Former Epsilons singer and guitarist Ty Segall turns down the tempo a bit but doesn't dial back the intensity on his first solo album. LEMONS follows the same lo-fi garage punk model as Segall's old band, but with the singer handling all the instruments himself, the arrangements have a bit less density, as tunes like the soulful "Lovely One," the midtempo ...
