Draw The Line songs
$6.59 Comprising the same lineup as Street Corner Talking, Savoy Brown released Hellbound Train a year later. For this effort, Kim Simmonds' guitar theatrics are toned down a bit and the rest of the band seems to be a little less vivid and passionate with their music. The songs are still draped with Savoy Brown's sleek, bluesy feel, but the deep-rooted blues essence that so easily emerged from their last album doesn't rise as high throughout Hellbound Train's tracks. The title cut is most definitely the strongest, with Dave Walker, Simmonds, an

Draw The Line album
$13.89 DO YOU GET THE BLUES won the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album.
In the decade following his departure from The Fabulous Thunderbirds and the death of his younger brother Stevie Ray, Jimmie Vaughan quietly carved out a critically acclaimed solo career steeped in a fusion of soul and blues. Despite parting ways with Nile Rodgers, (who produced Vaughan's first two records), the laid-back Texan goes down the same creative path in assuming the production helm for DO YOU GET THE BLUES?

| | Candye Kane Superhero CD (2009)
Draw The Line CD music
$12.89 Any time a musician survives a life-altering change, you can be sure that will be reflected in the music that follows. Often a breakup/divorce, new love/marriage, drug rehabilitation/habit or religious transformation has been responsible for some of pop's most memorable music. So it's no surprise that after Candye Kane was clear of the pancreatic cancer that could easily have been her death sentence, she would reference that experience on the album immediately following the harrowing situation. Kane doesn't waste any time doing that as the opening title track to her first post-cancer effort kicks off with the brassy singer bellowing the lyrics "I've always been a fighter" followed in the chorus by "there's no way I'm laying down and dying." Based on the aural evidence here, she has bounced back in a ...

| | Mojo Watson Inheritance CD (2002)
Draw The Line album
$14.25 MOJO WATSON Inheritance Watashea 1967It's hardly the traditional blues background: Before taking up music full time, guitarist and singer Mojo Watson was - wait for it a computer consultant. On the other hand, Inheritance is aptly titled; the 12 songs on Watson's Watashea Records debut were written by his father, and they're solidly rooted in the electric Chicago sound, with a little rock 'n' roll thrown in.And anyway, shouldn't the quality of the performance count for something? By that standard, Watson's the real deal. His sound is reminiscent of Big Bill Morganfield's - hardly surprising, as Watson cites Muddy Waters among his primary influences and the influence of Chuck Berry, Buddy Guy, and Jimi Hendrix also can be heard in Watson's renditions of these songs. However, Inheritance ...

| | Jaimes You Had To Go CD (2003)
Draw The Line music CDs
$17.69 Erin "Icewater" Jaimes came onto the Austin, Texas blues scene in late 1994, young and clueless, with a passion for the music. "If you play the blues, you're gonna end up living them," warned Erin's first serious musical mentor, drummer Jeff "Li'l Calvin" Hodges. Drummer "Uncle" John Turner, another major influence, has often stated that "to some, blues is a state of mind. To others, it's a way of life." (Little did she know how true their words were!) Listening to such artists as Koko Taylor, Dinah Washington, Etta James and Irma Thomas gave her an empowering but sobering look into a woman's survival in the blues - "a man's world." Erin didn't shy away. The music had its hold on her.During her first few years in Austin, she was increasingly invited to sing at Walter Higgs & the Shuffle Pigs' Blues Parties on 6th Street and to sit in with the bands at local blues venues. The patience and support of the seasoned musicians was mind-boggling. Erin learned that a vital, living part of the blues world is passing on the music by bringing up new generations of players. By 1997 she was itching to be a regular part of a working blues band.Having previously sung "bass" in an award-winning all-women's acapella group at Vassar College and loving the primal power ...
