| | Cathedral Lake Singers Pow Wow Songs, Vol. 1 CD Cathedral Lake Singers Discography of CDs
This collection of traditional Native American songs is a limited document and would be of most interest to serious ethnomusicologists. The tracks feature spare choral singing to a steady drum beat. An excellent overview of native music can be found on the Creation's Journey compilation. ~ Tim Sheridan

Pow Wow Songs, Vol. 1
$14.49 Buoyed by the popularity of the hit contemporary pop ballad "Home," singer Michael Bublé's 2005 album, IT'S TIME, clearly positioned the vocalist as the preeminent neo-crooner of his generation. Easily the singer's most stylistically wide-ranging album so far, 2009's CRAZY LOVE is also one of his brightest, poppiest, and most fun. Bublé kicks things off with the theatrical, epic ballad "Cry Me a River" and proceeds ...
| | Bob Dylan Christmas In The Heart CD (2009)
Pow Wow Songs, Vol. 1
$12.85 After the initial shock fades, the existence of CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART seems perhaps inevitable. After all, the thing Bob Dylan loves most of all are songs that are handed down from generation to generation, songs that are part of the American fabric, songs so common they never seem to have been written. These are the songs Dylan chooses ...
| | Pink Martini Splendor In The Grass CD (2009) Digipak
Pow Wow Songs, Vol. 1
$13.39 Pink Martini follow the around-the-world-in-a-dozen-songs thrills of HEY EUGENE! with SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS, a mellower, simpler set of small pleasures. These are relative terms, however; the group's music is still well-traveled, with China Forbes singing in five languages (English, Spanish, Neapolitan, French, and Italian) instead of the six or so on EUGENE!. However, Pink Martini opt for a more unified sound here, one that draws on the more straightforward lounge-pop of their debut, SYMPATHIQUE, and the mellowness of '60s and '70s pop. SPLENDOR IN ...

$6.99 Principally recorded at N.R.G. Recording Services, North Hollywood, California and Reflection Studios, Charlotte, North Carolina.
Still entirely comfortable with their reputation of being the ultimate bar band despite having released a debut that sold around 15 million copies, Hootie & The Blowfish regrouped for their fourth album with a covers record featuring rarities and previously unreleased material. Hipsters may sneer at the unassuming musical delivery and Joe Six-Pack personae, but the band's dedication to its fans extended to spearheading an Internet campaign that found voters picking a third of the songs on this collection.
Of the five songs picked by web fiat, artists who get the Hootie treatment ...
| | Red Hot Chili Peppers (1st LP) CD (1984) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Pow Wow Songs, Vol. 1
$9.85 All tracks have been digitally remastered using 24 Bit Technology.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers' 1984 self-titled debut may not have been as stellar as future releases would be (UPLIFT MOFO PARTY PLAN, MOTHER'S MILK, etc.), but the band's intoxicating punk-funk proved to be a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stagnant rock scene. Original members Hillel Slovak (guitar) and Jack Irons (drums) bowed out just prior to the recording of the debut (they'd return for the next release, 1985's FREAKY STYLEY), as fill-ins Jack Sherman and Cliff Martinez joined singer Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea. The album-opening "True Men Don't Kill Coyotes" was the band's first video to appear on MTV, while "Get Up and Jump" has proven to be a perennial concert staple. Other highlights include "Green Heaven," "Out in L.A.," and "Police Helicopter."
This eponymously titled long-player from the Los Angeles-based Red Hot Chili Peppers firmly establishes the quartet's trademark in-your-face synthesis of heavy metal and no-nonsense funk. However, the musicians who participated on these recordings were only half of the original foursome. Presented on these 11 sides are core members Flea (bass) and Anthony Kiedis ...
