Asi Se Compone Un Son buy CD music Miranda takes off as his own man in this recording emancipating himself professionally and artistically from the great wingspan of Larry Harlow, a maestro in his own right. Under the direction of Johnny Pacheco, co- founder of Fania Records and a brilliant recording artist, Ismael Miranda in the tradition of great band leaders demonstrates his leadership and command of top musicians, Cuban son and the incendiary New York salsa of the 1970's. He pens a number of original compositions and draws on some of Arsenio Rodriguez' colorful Son tunes from Cuba. His mastery of son, lead vocal improvisations, and tumbao are unparalled. "Asi Se Compone Un Son" is an architectural blue print for how Son is constructed and composed, paying wonderful tribute to the late son montuno master Arsenio Rodriguez. His santero skit "Cuidate Bien" is one of the most entertaining from a listening and dancing perspective. I've played Cuidate Bien several hundred times since purchasing this recording in 1973 while in high school. I never get enough of this tune especially when you realize that their exist good and evil. His tribute the Colombia burns the dancefloor. "Ahora Que Estoy Sabroso" and "Ahora Si" perhaps a song awash in hubris conveys the ambitious and competitive spirit of a lead sonero seeking to prove his muster and triumph against deprecating and invidious ill wishers. I can go on and on lauding every song on this classic recording. Buy! Buy! Buy!

A Great CD!
This is a most have for your Salsa collection. Ismael sounds great. I even liked the songs that I have never heard before. Good quality recording!
