More than most jazz lite artists, Peter White flaunts a restless improvisational sense, which is fully evident on Glow. Aside from a few incidental fills tossed into the breeze by this or that horn player, this is entirely White's show. His performance on all these tracks, typically over a backdrop of gauzy major-seventh string pads, provides a lesson in long-form jamming against a steady, sensuous backbeat, with octave passages and a buoyant rhythm feel that echo Wes Montgomery. Despite these similarities, White displays a distinctive sound, with blues and Spanish influences perfuming his romantic phrases. Beau Renfro will tell you quick, he's from Texas and that way of life shows up in his songs. He only makes it to Nashville to record or visit with friends now days. Beau's records are played all over the world now, thanks to the worldwide web. You may want to google his name to see all the places he has been in the music business. Stardust records in Nashville is home to this countryboy and after three albums and sixteen releases Beau Renfro is still going strong. His music started as a lot of country pickers did, in church. Beau's dad was a preacher and his mother a sunday school treacher. Beau sang at the tender age of four with his eleven sisters, that's right eleven. Working with the family as a group in churches from Texas to Tennessee. People came from miles around to hear his family sing those good old gospel songs. In 1985 Beau formed a band in Tyler,Texas called Beau & the Bandits and became the house band for the Oil Palace. Backing all the stars who came out of Nashville to sing in the 2500 seat night club.
