i was on vacation in the mayan riviera, mexico, and "follow the leader" was a HUGE hit with all of the tourists..including me...it got everyone dancing! I am originally from Canada, but i have been living in Italy for awhile. It really brought memories back about english songs that get you dancing!! I think that you do need to release this song and i can guarentee you that there are other people who are looking for somewhere to listen to it...they dont have it on itunes...anyways this song was the song that everybody knew and it helped to run the activities(water aerobics, dancing etc) move along smoothly!!!!GREAT JOB!!!

4 stars The NEW Group Dance Song
I am a mobile Disc Jockey,in North East Pa. USA on vacation and I was in Cancun Mexico a few weeks ago at the RIU Palace on holiday. "Follow The Leader" was a big hit with the tourists( and myself ) I think you need to Re- release(promo only Nov. 2000) this song in the USA with a VIDEO to support it with dance steps. This song (when it was released in the states) back in 2000 was not promoted properly. Given the time it may have been lost ! I strongly believe "Follow The Leader" by the Soca Boys should be a HIT! If you have a dance step video please e-mail my company I and will promote this song the way it should be. In my own words "Follow The Leader " puts the "Cha Cha Slide " by the waste side. Thank You, Thomas J. abcdj@epix.net

Digitally remastered by Bernie Grundman (Bernie Grundman Mastering, Los Angeles, California). Jackson's domination of the world record market continued following Thriller, although by comparison it was an almighty flop with only 12 million sales. As Pink Floyd and Dire Straits have proved, one album can go completely sales haywire without necessarily being any better. The title track and the gorgeous "Man In The Mirror" were substantial hits, but quality material such as "Dirty Diana" and "Liberian Girl" bolster a strong album. Jackson also seemed to have found the romance he seeks in "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" and ...

Royce Da 59 Street Hop CD  (2009)

Album CD music
CD $11.49  Top 500 Audio Samples
In pre-release interviews, Royce da 5'9" laid out a perfect description of his style: a Detroit kid brought up on Nas whose head was sent spinning once Eminem came around. Three years in the making--twelve months in prison for a DUI being part of the problem--STREET HOP often has a solid foundation that's absolutely classic in feel but also features those quirky, sick-o rhymes that are distinctly post-Shady. "I mix a between Chris Brown and Chris Jericho/Where's your daughter?" is an unsettling bit from the freaky track "Street Hop 2010" which goes on to reference Marlon Brando's Apache friend picking up his Oscar right before rattling off some psycho-babble about "syphilis nun chucks" and other bizarre whatnot. Hard to believe the convincing R&B stunner "Thing for Your Girlfriend" could follow with all its radio-friendly polish while elsewhere "New Money" brings reminders of Roc-A-Fella's heyday with its bright and grand Streetrunner production. The minimal "Soldier" features an innovative Frequency beat with a bit of Rick Rubin-styled crunch which Royce takes in another direction, going the Kool Keith route and hurling insults like "Your mama got a glass eye/With a fish in it." "The Warriors" takes the album down a dark alley with some help from Royce's group Slaughterhouse and when Trick Trick shows up for the terrorizing ...

Jimmy Witherspoon...Plus
Jimmy Witherspoon...Plus CD  (2005) Reissue

Album CD music
CD $12.05
When it was issued as an LP in 1958, Jimmy Witherspoon was just a random -- and short -- roundup of ten tracks from 1949-1951 singles he'd done for Modern. As is typical for the Ace label, however, the CD reissue adds a lot of value, tacking on eight bonus tracks from other 1948-1951 singles, as well as lengthy historical liner notes. Together with a previous Ace compilation, Blowin' in from Kansas City, it supplies a good overview of Witherspoon's early career, in which he -- like so many R&B singers -- was purveying a brand of West Coast blues that could both swing and croon. This isn't necessarily a lesser companion piece to Blowin' in from Kansas City, including as it does four national R&B hits ("Ain't Nobody's Business," "No Rollin' Blues," "Big Fine Girl," and "Once There Lived a Fool"). It's not up there with the singer's best recordings, as it doesn't have the most forceful of the jazz-blues fusions he'd make. It's respectable early R&B, with a bunch of sides recorded in concert (including "Ain't Nobody's Business," "No Rollin' Blues," and "Big Fine Girl") with a spontaneous rawness unusual even by the standards of this earlier, more rudimentary era. "Jump Children" (aka "Good Jumpin'") is a pretty transparent imitation of "Good Rockin' Tonight," however. ~ Richie Unterberger This expanded reissue, part of Ace's ongoing series of original Crown reissues, is from 1958, and augments the original dozen songs with a further selection of original ...
Funk 45 Sessions
Funk 45 Sessions CDs  (2005)

Album music CDs
CD $11.65
This two-CD set offers three dozen funk cuts from 1967-1974 that were only available on 45 at the time of their release. (To be technical about it, one track, Mary Jane Hooper's "Don't Change Nothin'," didn't come out until 1997, but it was included here as it was originally intended for a single release around 1970.) That doesn't mean that every cut is hard to find on CD reissues; some of the songs, particularly those by big names such as James Brown ("Get Up, Get Into It, Get Involved") and Marvin Gaye ("You're the Man, Pt. 1"), are no longer hard to acquire. Still, this certainly does present material that's fairly-to-very obscure for the most part, regardless of whether it's been reissued elsewhere. There are some lesser-known cuts by stars here, like those by Brown, Gaye, Kool & the Gang, and the Meters, but mostly the artists are unknown beyond the soul/funk collector world. And while this particular selection couldn't be said to be among the greatest funk from the era (or even the greatest uncelebrated funk from the era), it's a decent rundown of sides from funk's heyday that haven't found a wide audience. James Brown's influence (and, less often, Sly Stone's) in particular is often felt; in fact, a few bands, like Maceo & All the King's Men, the Pace-Setters, and Fred Wesley & the J.B.'s, were spinoffs of Brown's backup units. As with many soul and funk comps, there's not quite enough variety or standout performances here to make this measure up to the cream of the style, though the grooves are almost always pretty respectable. But there are a good number of workouts that are high above the average, like the Rimshots' sassy cover of the Fatback Band's "Dance Girl"; the Identities' "Hey Brother," which approximates the funkiest side of the early Jackson 5 sound, even if the song's a rewrite of "Hey Joe"; and the T.S.U. Toronados' "The Toronado" and the Fabulous Origins' "It Ain't Fair But It's Fun," both smoking instrumentals. The lyrics are mostly of the incidental sex-dance-party chant ...
Common Man's Anthems
Presence Common Man's Anthems CD  (2005)

Album songs
CD $9.89
The Presence is a New York based duo made up of emcee/producer Nasa and emcee Cirrus. 70’s prog samples mesh with electronic noise, crisp drum patterns and live instrumentation to create a thick musical palette, which the group layer with gritty flow and abstract wordplay. While their record label is Uncommon, a home for unique hip-hop, their album Common Man’s Anthems speaks to the everyman. Nasa explains “We strive to speak factually about subjects but present it creatively. A lot of underground hip-hop that deals with politics or world affairs ends up putting their own lefty, liberal spin on it or comes off preachy. Our album is representative of people who dwell at the epicenter of 9/11 and how they view the world.” The first track off of their new album "Common Man's Anthems", Martyr Rock, sets the tone touching on issues such as global warming, strife between Sunni and Shiite Muslims in Iraq and the outsourcing of labor to foreign countries. While these issues are addressed, the message as the chorus drops is, “You can let a thousand hours drip off a clock, And still never know the hour you should watch, Life is your death getting closer non stop, So stop watching that clock and pump up Martyr Rock.” Bulletproof is more localized but touches a similar vein about mortality and facing it. The track was written after 9/11 with the false sense of bravado the group needed to do their daily routine after the destruction in NYC. “You can't kill something that’s already dead, this is zombie town, the city only sleeps in your head, And I'm the zombie insomniac, And I'm getting tired and fatigued of fatigues inspired to bomb Iraq.” Guest emcees and producers add to the creativity of the tracks. Rob Sonic is featured on Pink Noise, a track about the fascination with wars and other disasters by the media. Nuclear Five features Aesop Rock, Masai Bey and Karniege. “The Nuclear Five refers to the first five nations to possess nuclear weapons” Nasa explains. The El-P produced Turbo Connection deals with the supply and demand of oil and the motor industries hold on economic power. Formed by best friends since attending High School in Staten Island, Nasa & Cirrus formed The Presence in 1999. Nasa has engineered and mixed abstract hip-hop classics such as El-P’s “Fantastic Damage,” Cannibal Ox’s “The Cold Vein”, Aesop Rock’s “Bazooka Tooth” as well as work by Mr. Lif, DJ Krush & Mike Ladd. His production credits include “Candid Cam” on the Vast Aire ...
