| Dweller On The Threshold Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Viva TRIBE OF GYPSIES! Simply put this is another masterpiece from the best Latin rock band under the sun. 'Dweller...', much like the previous ToG albums, has a very distinct sound and vibe to it but is still unmistakably Tribe. Part of it is due to the revamped line-up, particularly new vocalist Chas West, who does not possess the Latin smoothness of his predecessor, Gregg Analla, but delivers with the power of a young Robert Plant (yes, he used to front Jason Bonham's band...) or Chris Cornell but also borders on U2's Bono ('Halos') at times. But, there is still plenty of Latin to sink your teeth into on this disc - the massively epic 'La Hora' (Roy Z burns down the house in the extended solo section and shreds up a storm!) is sung in Spanish and the all-instrumental 'Flying Tigers, Crying Dragons' has the fire of early Santana Carlos can only dream of now. I'm also hearing shades of Purple ('Ride On' recalls 'Highway Star'), Kravitz ('Stop Bombing Each Other!'), and War ('Desolate Child'); the infectious acoustic driven 'After the Summer' is another highlight (radio would eat this up!) and you gotta hear what these guys do with Van Halen's 'Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love'! Awesome! - Last but not least they stir up a strong Flamenco flavor on 'Hands to Eternity' that takes you straight to a dusty Andalusian street corner. Brilliant stuff! - Bottom line: this band should be friggin' huge - or at least as big as Los Lonely Boys who can't hold a candle to these guys. Buy, die and go to music heaven!
P.S.: There is no 'Limited Edition' digipak version with 4 bonus tracks as is noted above on this site so don't be fooled into ordering something that does not exist. Submitted by Gary (San Francisco, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Dweller On The Threshold album
$7.99 DEJA VOODOO serves as a comeback for Gov't Mule, who lost founding member Allen Woody in August 2000. Bandmates Warren Haynes and Matt Abts carried on with a search to fill Woody's shoes, and this led to live recordings featuring guest bassists on each cut. This studio outing welcomes the arrival of former Black Crowes bass player Andy Hess and keyboardist Danny Louis, whose entry transforms the Mule into a quartet, upping the creative potential ...

Dweller On The Threshold music CDs
$10.25 West Indies born hip hop artist J the S, has quickly become the mc to watch on the Boston music scene. His music is heavily influenced by the sounds of his adolecent life in Nevis as well as the urban narrative that became his day to day upon moving to the east coast. Inspired by early 90's hip hop when sincerity dominated the marketplace, he carries on the tradition of interpreting the world with keen and insightful lyrical content, in the same style as Tupac and Nas. "A true mc: he is honest and fiercely dedicated to the music he loves…using the mic as a tool to address the issues that exist in the world." Jarrod Annis WERS 88.9 Following the critically acclaimed Strategy Of The Crown LP, J The S has just released his new street album. Year Of The Snake Volume 2: AT CLOSE RANGE is hosted by DJ Vlad the Butcher. This album marks the most personal of all his projects to date. His first single "Long Hot Summer" featuring ...

| | Soundscapegoat Music For Art Exhibits CD (2008)
Dweller On The Threshold album
$16.45 Music For Art Exhibits could be a misleading title if you allow it to be, but for Soundscapegoat it might be about playing with the idea of what this music could be. The album is a unique exploration of synthesizers and electronics, and in an abstract sense they may be fitting at an art exhibit. If you are to take the concept on the surface, each song represents a different area of the exhibit with different textures and tones, each one sounding very different from the one that came before. Some of the pieces come off a bit repetitive at first, but allow the music to settle in and one will be able to find each section of the song unfolding and revealing new elements within the audio meditation. In fact, I would call this "music for a distracted meditation", in that one could easily chill and zone out but one might also get lost in some of the groups that ...
