| | John McVey Circle Of Friends CD John McVey Discography of CDs
Combining well-crafted originals with well-considered covers, Circle of Friends' surprise is that the sound of John McVey here might be compared to the Philly soul sound of artists such as Daryl Hall (especially on tunes such as "Song of the Night" and "One Way Train"). However, as in his impressive and engaging reworkings of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," McVey is also able to bring original style to his musical choices. ~ Matthew Robinson

Circle Of Friends album
$18.94 It's a commonly held opinion among fans and band alike that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' lone live album, 1986's Pack Up the Plantation, didn't quite capture the group at its peak, so there has been a long-standing need for another live set, which 2009's Live Anthology finally provides. Like its closest cousin, Bruce Springsteen's Live 1975-1985, Live Anthology almost overcompensates for the long wait by offering almost too much music, cherrypicking highlights from 1978 to 2007. In its simplest incarnation, Live Anthology is a super-affordable, four-disc box set running 48 tracks, which is eight cuts longer than Springsteen's box, plenty long enough for most fans, but in its deluxe version, available only through Best Buy, there's an additional CD, plus two previously unreleased DVDs -- a 1978 New Years Eve ...
| | John Mayer Battle Studies CD (2009)
Circle Of Friends CD music
$11.17 It's no secret that John Mayer is a 21st Century Fox, wining and dining women all through tabloid headlines, so it's about time he delivered an album that traded upon his loverman persona -- and Battle Studies is that record in spades. Retaining more than a modicum of the slick, soul-blues undertones of Continuum, Mayer fashions a modern groove album, a record that maintains a smooth seductive vibe so thoroughly it spills into a one-man band cover of "Crossroads." Mayer remains somewhat of a disciple of Slowhand, but he shows an unusual interest in the big AOR stylings of Journeyman, along with Stevie Ray Vaughan's In Step, creating a coolly clean blend of synths and Strats, one that's as much about texture as it is about song.something perfectly appropriate for a make-out album like this. Sometimes, Mayer dips too heavily toward the texture, but he can't resist a good, tight melody and builds the bulk ...

Circle Of Friends CD music
$9.99 I AM. SASHA FIERCE represents another change of pace for Beyoncé. Unlike the relatively streamlined, retro-soul inflected B'DAY, I AM... is a sprawling two-disc set designed to reflect two conflicting sides of Beyoncé's musical personality. The first disc sports reflective, sometimes moody ballads, while the second, attributed to Beyoncé's brash alter ego, Sasha Fierce, is loaded with propulsive dance-floor fillers. Except for this stylistic divide, I AM. pays only nominal attention to its supposed concept, focusing instead on a set of excellent, radio-ready songs--neatly avoiding the possibility of I AM. becoming some sort of Chris Gaines-style conceptual disaster. Though the second disc, which boasts the synth-drenched lead single, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring ...
| | Seeds/A Web Of Sound CD (2001)
Circle Of Friends music CDs
$15.35 The Seeds' first two albums were also their best. THE SEEDS, featuring the stomping garage-punk classics "Pushin' Too Hard" and "Can't Seem To Make You Mine," arguably the hardest pre-heavy metal singles, is clearly a snot-nose classic. It's all in the song titles--"Evil Hoodoo," "No Escape," "Girl I Want You"--and the malevolence of the band's playing, especially that of organist Daryl Hooper and guitarist Jan Savage.
A WEB OF SOUND is both a refinement and an abandonment of this approach. Some songs, especially "Mr. Farmer" and ...

Circle Of Friends music CDs
$11.15 Sam Lapides released his first solo CD titled, Wake Up from the Wasteland, on Germany's Bluerose Records. This critically acclaimed recording was picked as one of the top twenty demos of 1998 by the respected national industry magazine Music Connection. Prior to this pinnacle in his music career Lapides had an interesting history. Back in 1992 Sam would occasional head to Venice Beach and try his luck at attracting new fans to his brand of music. One day while performing The Dream Syndicate's "Burn" the song's author, indie-rock legend, Steve Wynn happened to walk by Sam's guitar case. Wynn liked the rendition so much that he agreed to produce Sam's newly formed group Ghosthouse who had secured a deal with Italy's Club de Musique Records. The self-titled "Ghosthouse" spawned a successful tour of Italy and warranted a second release on Club de Musique, this time a live CD. In September 1994 Ghosthouse returned to Europe for a month long tour covering Denmark, France, Germany, Austria and Italy. At that time Ghosthouse ...

Circle Of Friends music CDs
$12.65 "Ambition of an Underground Rapper".....the second album in the "Underground Rapper" NOVA musical trilogy!!!!"A more focused album" critics are raving..."Better than Determination"..."The best hip hop record released in years!!!" It's 17 songs worth of finely crafted NOVA music featuring the first ever batch of 'NOVI-NOV BEAT' production by NOVA himself....AND...production work by Mindbender, E-Dan, and more!! Includes the smash hit "Beautiful Day" and "Bad On My Own"....do yourself a favor and indulge in PURE MUSICAL GENIUS!!!WHO IS NOVA???There are those that "rap"....and those whom "sing"......these simplistic watered down descriptions of the art of hip hop are the basic categories you can break MOST artist down into....However...."MOST" is far from an apt description of NOVA.Born Micol Scott Rankin, NOVA was raised in several small towns in Western Pennsylvania. Spending most of his youth moving house to house nearly every 2 years between the hard knock ways of the ghetto neighborhoods and the middle class suburbias....adapting to different ways of life became a natural ability. He always had a deep love for entertaining his peers whether in class joking or with singing his favorite songs.Growing up on the genre bending sounds of Madonna, Michael Jackson, Will Smith, and many others...NOVA was in an area where your music was defined by your ethnicity. However, he would shy from such conformity...never one to fit "the mold". Learning how to accept peoples differences and love all peoples uniqueness shaped his open minded approach to music. Music would be a way of getting thorough hard times for him growing up.At an odd turning point in his life...NOVA suffered from a rare blood disease that nearly took his life. After spending ...
