With Sky Kisses Earth, Prem Joshua sought to slow down his usual up-tempo trance/worldbeat fusion and create something more mystical and contemplative. Taking the ancient mystical Tantric writings of India as an inspiration, he laid down basic tracks with tabla player Manish Vyas in a small studio in the Indian city of Pune, then took those tapes home to his house in Tuscany, where he overdubbed more acoustic instruments before filling out the mixes with keyboard tracks in Amsterdam, in collaboration with Maneesh de Moor. The resulting music is not exactly ambient and by no means minimalist, but there is definitely something soothing about its gently rolling beats and rich instrumental textures. As usual, it's Prem Joshua's flute playing that is most engaging here, especially on the exceptionally lovely "Remember This." He's no slouch as a sitar player either, though, as he ably demonstrates on the gently chugging, mid-tempo "Dakini." Not really trance, not really new age, this is music that defies easy categorization ...

Bun' Ber E's Ceilidh: a party in a packet! Toe-tapping traditonal tunes with an irreverent Aussie twist. Perfect for dancing, driving or any celebration.This CD features Bun' Ber E's unique take on traditional Celtic tunes. It features three tracks combining Bagpies with bongos and bass guitar (including a Mozart tune) three songs and four high-energy jigs and reels. Bun' Ber E (taken from Oscar Wilde's Importance of Being Ernest) grew out of the need to provide variety to the Queensland Irish Association's award-winning Pipe Band's concerts in 1996. Two of the pipers and the drum sargent auditioned for a guitarist and formed a four-piece folk band with flute/whistle, keyboards, percussion and guitar/mandolin. Because of the number of strictly traditional Celtic bands around Brisbane, Bun' Ber E tried to make things different to suit their unusual backgrounds and line-up. This included playing the bagpipes with bass guitar, church organ and bongos for backing. The band soon found extra work entertaining patrons in the Club on Friday nights and then playing at weddings and parties. Soon they found themselves playing as "paid buskers" at craft markets and Southbank. After some lineup changes and four years of people asking about a CD, Bun' Ber E recorded Ceilidh at Murdifications Studios ...

So you've never heard of me and you stumbled upon my CD by accident you say? I'm o.k. with that. I'll take an accidental foot in the door over total obscurity any day. Foot number two would involve your spending the next 4 ½ minutes of your life listening to the track samples over there on the left(I hope). The writing of these songs and the production of this CD became a project for me that fell somewhere between passion and obsession. The end result is a scrapbook of thoughts & impressions pasted together with melodies that I hope you'll find yourself humming when you least expect it.
