ahh memories of youth It has been 20+ years since I last heard any Gentle Giant. Just like I remember, So glad you are stocking the catalog. Hard to explain the music of Gentle Giant so do your self a favor and give it a listen! By a reviewer (hawaii)
Much better than original CD I also have the original CD by Terrapin as well as the original vinyl. The new version captures much more the spirit of the record in sound quality and is a small replica of the original packaging. The Terrapin sounds very thin in comparison. One of my favorite G.G. discs and a must have for fans. By a reviewer (Rome GA USA)
Gentle Giant at their best! "In A Glass House" is a must-have CD for any Gentle Giant fan. Very creative compositions and inspired performances. Well worth the long wait to get it in CD format! By a reviewer (Aurora, CO, USA)
Highest Prog Rock Gentle Giant was maybe the prog rock group that mostly reached the goal of reconstruct his style in each album. This is one of their greatest. The Runaway develops their basic criteria: the meeting between medieval and renaissance music with rock. An Inmates Lullaby features a solo voice (filtered) as an ostinato over a base of keybordist' vibraphone and drummer's xylophone. In A Reunion a sweet voice goes over a string quartet instrumentation, played by keybordist and bassist. That's why the original cover includes photographs of the musicians playing their instruments and over it another plastic one playing other ones. Everyone sings and everyone plays additional recorder and percussion. Unfortunately this version doesn't includes the original last piece (called Index) that contained a pair of seconds of every track in the disc; an excelent idea, because in a record an index is completely unuseful. Buy it immediately if you are a musician, or left it behind if you like vogue or easy sounds. By dr_epf (Argentina) This review is for a different format.
| don't throw stones please I prefer their earlier albums, and i know i'm in the minority there, but so be it.I do like this better than "Octopus" even though they are sort of in the same style."The Runaway" , "Experience" and "In A Glass House" are all incredible songs.
