| | Irene Long Gone Since Last Summer CD (2007) (Import) Sweden
Schlager Souvenirs Der 70er CD music
$12.65 The second album by Swedish pop collective Irene, Long Gone Since Last Summer opens with the sprightly single "By Your Side," the sort of song that's propelled along by a double-time acoustic rhythm guitar and a perky horn section and has a subtle but unmistakable feel of the sort of early-'70s AM radio hit that got collected on Rhino's Have a Nice Day series. It's followed immediately by "End of the Line," which offers exactly more of the same, which itself is followed by "Looking for Love," which varies the formula enough to include Cowsills-style group harmonies and is followed by the jauntily frisky "Seaside," which...and so on and so on. In other words, ...

| | Amy London When I Look In Your Eyes CD (2007)
Schlager Souvenirs Der 70er album
$13.09 Amy London is known and loved in New York City jazz and Broadway circles for her effortless sound, impeccable musicianship and depth of emotion. 'When I Look In Your Eyes', her first national release as a leader, features some of the world's top jazz musicians, and reflects London's fully seasoned career which includes recordings with Roland Hanna, Barry Harris, Fred Hersch, Dr. Lonnie Smith, New York Voices, three years in the 6 Tony award winning Broadway hit 'City of Angels', (on it's Grammy nominated original cast recording as well), tours with Charles Aznavour, Tom Browne and Larry Elgart, and twenty five years of performances in the NY area, including long term engagements with the big bands of Chris Byars, Bill Conway, Loren Schoenberg and the Rainbow Room Orchestra, as well as the City Center production of 'Promises, Promises', with Martin Short.London's selection of songs on this disc include moving renditions of rarely recorded American standards, along with some fresh crossover selections such as Laura Nyro's 'Lazy Susan' and the title track, which is pulled from the soundtrack of 'Dr. Dolittle'. Weaned on Motown and the folk rock of the 1970's (Laura Nyro/Joni Mitchell/Carole King/James Taylor etc. ) and deeply trained in the jazz idiom, London is poised to be a favorite of the baby boomer generation with her accessible Ella-meets Laura Nyro style. The sessions were recorded in a series of live takes at the famed Bennett Studios in New Jersey, with a jazz dream team. Notably, this was one of pianist John Hicks' final recordings. Also featured are fellow Motema artists Roni Ben-Hur and Rufus Reid (bass jazz legend whose career spans 4 decades w/300 ...

| | Vickie Raye Cigarettes & Circumstance CD (2009)
Schlager Souvenirs Der 70er music CDs
$10.65 So who is Vickie Raye? A little bit of everything, I supposed. A straight shooter, honest, raw. Yes I am 34. Some days I feel 50. I am proud of my stretch marks and battle scars, they make me who I am. I am a bit rebellious, and extremely loyal. I am very opinionated. I am passionate about my opinions, my lovers, and my friends. I have 6 tattoos and I'm not done yet. I like disco. I'm a partial vegetarian, and slightly overweight. I'm a mother, a wife, a friend. I've been singing since I can remember. I was a professional dancer for 20 years (since the age of 8), a paralegal, a waitress, a financial advisor, a make up artist, a photographer, a sales person, a bartender and alot more jobs that I won't bother to mention. I was born in Puerto Rico, adopted at birth, and grew up in South Florida. I've been married twice, the last one 'took'. Yes, a lifetime ago I did drugs, no I don't do them anymore, and have no interest to do it again. I don't understand people who "wine all the time but I'll be a shoulder you can always count on. My mother died of lung cancer, and I still smoke; I keep telling myself one day I'll quit. I'm securely insecure. I love music, all kinds of music, because there were times in my life that music was all I had. I sing, I write, I record and do it all over and over again. I love what I do everyday and am extremely thankful for the opportunity. I'm hitting the road in 2009 and scared to death that people will hate me! Ha! can't get more honest than that (I'm not scared of much)! That's me.....take me or leave me - doesn't matter either way. But if you decide to take me as I am, then be true, be honest, and love til it hurts- no looking back. There's no other way to live!!So we move onto the professional: Singer/Sonwriter Vickie Raye, began performing professionally at the tender age of 8 in musical theater in Miami Florida. Now, in her 30's and after nearly 4 years of travelling back and forth, Raye is a permanent fixture here in Music City, TN. At age 17, Vickie Raye joined and performed as the front-man (or woman in this case) locally in South Florida with the rock band Emerald Steel and toured Brazil and Germany. Now, since officially moving Nashville she has been in and out of the recording studio working on demo projects and performing whenever possible. She has earned a coveted spot playing at the famous Bluebird Cafe, as well as earned ...
