What an odd and sad life pianist Jimmy Amadie has had. A very promising pianist in the 1950s and early '60s, he developed tendinitis in his hands, ignored the pain as long as he could, and in 1967 was forced to stop playing when his hands essentially fell apart. Since that time he has often had to restrict himself to five minutes of playing a day, sometimes working his way up to a half hour a day but on several occasions rehurting himself by playing too much. This CD, his first, took 18 months to record because, after recording one song, he would have to rest his hands for a month! Despite all of the physical pain, the swinging and thoughtful music is enjoyable to hear. Amadie performs four originals plus such standards as "I'm Getting Sentimental Over You," "On Green Dolphin Street," and "Autumn Leaves," and listening to his music is not a painful experience. So much effort went into this recording that the results are somewhat heroic. ~ Scott Yanow Jimmy Amadie is recognized worldwide as a jazz musician/educator/teacher recording artist and author. He has recorded six CD's. He has taught at both Berklee College of Music in Boston, and Villanova University in their Summer Music Programs. Mr. Amadie has been profiled on CBS Sunday Morning. First let me start off by saying that this album is really top notch. We spared no expense when we did this album. There are awesome hit song writers and one of Nashvilles finest studios. There are also several of Nashvilles best studio musicians on this CD. Make sure you grab a copy and let me know what you think.BIO Eric Dodge discovered his passion for singing in the most heartfelt of ways. While always having a strong love for music, his greatest fear was to share that passion publicly. On September 11th, 2001, as our great country suffered a terrorist attack, Eric was on a cruise ship outside of Mexico. That fateful day was when Eric made his decision to no longer be afraid. He stepped up to the microphone aboard the ship to share his voice and love of music. He was no longer willing to let his fear keep him from what was truly his gift to the world. He opened up his heart and sang Garth Brooks\' song \"The Dance\". After his moving performance, a passenger approached him to let him know how much she had loved the song. She encouraged him to pursue a singing career. Just as many others were changed by the events of 9/11, Eric took her words to heart and decided to follow his heart into the world of country music. Eric has worked with Seth Riggs, vocal coach to the Stars in Hollywood and from there was sent to train with Jeffrey Skouson in Las Vegas. Thanks to these great coaches, Eric began sharing his talents professionally in 2003 and hasn\'t stopped. He\'s performed hundreds of shows all over the United States and Canada.
