INCOGNEGRO is also available on Def Jam South Records [584 137] as BACK FOR THE FIRST TIME with three new tracks.
This is a unique case of an album having two lives. Initially released on a relatively small, underground hip-hop label, INCOGNEGRO took the rap audience by storm to such an extent that Ludacris was snapped up quickly by Def Jam, who decided to use it to initiate their new Def Jam South imprint. The DJS reissue of the album was retitled BACK FOR THE FIRST TIME, and gave Ludacris a shot at an even bigger audience.
Not too shabby for a new artist, even one as talented as Ludacris. Though the presence of some of the South's finest artists, such as Lil' Troy and UGK, may help to increase interest in this album, it's Ludacris's unique hip-hop vision that is the central focus here, combining intense urban scenarios with infectious funk, complex rhyming patterns, and undeniable lyrical skills.

I liked this album by Ludacris. It sounds a lot like some of his recent stuff, but if you are a Ludacris fan, this album is a must.

The Better Version of Back For The First Time
This Ludacris Second Best Album Next to Word of Mouf and better than Red Light District.
You don't really want to listen Back for the First Time's Fantasy Remix, or Phat Rabbit 10 times a day right? So get this, because lyrically, It wasn't Us and Rock n a Hard Place were excellent tracks.
They didn't put these two tracks in Back For The First Time because the beat and style was slightly loose from the other Back for the First time tracks. Anyhow most artist today have bad tracklisting, and the one for Incognegro is actually not that bad. So buy it, its still better than Back For The First Time.

Ludas dirty south lyrics on this album are a perfect example of how great he is on the rest of his cds if you get a chance I highly recomend you buy all of his albums he is truly the mouf of the south
