| booger off People need to mind their own business regarding remasters from Audio Fidelity. I own two, & they sound great. Every CD I've ever owned remastered by Steve Hoffman is a breathe of fresh air to the ears. The Leon Russell reissues from '95 come to mind as well. If you've ever heard one before the process & then a remaster, you'll easily hear the difference. He also did the second disc of the Collector's Edition of Love-Forever Changes. It sounds like a new album now. People, just stick to the original versions, or quit complaining. I'm betting it's more because of the extra dollars needed for a gold CD. There's several I want, but can't afford. By bill key (rogers, ar usa) This review is for a different format. |
| Absolute perfection! No other pop singer so perfectly embodies the Western mythical girl/woman, heartbroken yet resilient and entirely feminine in the traditional sense. There is a throbbing edge to Ronstadt's soprano that no other singer quite possesses -- the edge between vulnerability and willfulness that I find totally, irresistibly sexy. It all came together on this album, her best album to date, and not a bad song or performance can be found here. Absolute perfection! | No comment necessary, really... It is hard to imagine an album where singer, band, arrangers and production come together as perfectly as on this record. Its pristine quality wuill probably live on forever. By ning1 (San Salvador, El Salvador) This review is for a different format. |
| Linda's best solo album. Of course, that's just my opinion. I was hoping (being an import) that this would be newer mastering than the very old US release, but no such luck. That being said, what a great album. Produced by Peter Asher (of Peter & Gordon), with a supporting cast to die for, they didn't just perform a bunch of cool songs, but really made most of them their own. I did, however, say it was her best SOLO album. In this reviewer's very humble opinion, the first Stone Poneys album, and side two of Evergreen Vol. 2 are her finest work. The group dynamic suited her well, and the group was in the process of creating the future of folk music when somebody (probably Capitol Records) decided they had a potential superstar on their hands and the group was no more. More's the pity. By bgkirkman (Seattle, WA, USA) This review is for a different format. |
| I Have the Vinyl and it was great, the CD is supurb! My husband had to have the song Willing, after hearing it on the movie The Abyss, and we had it on vinyl, but it was old and used. The CD is very superior in sound, and of course Linda's music is always great! By a reviewer (Terrell, TX) This review is for a different format. |
