Recorded live at the Fine Line Recording Studio, New York, New York on October 30, 1967. Includes liner notes by Bill Weilbacher.
Recorded the same day as the music released on the Master Jazz album Gee Baby, Ain't I Good to You, this is the superior of the two recordings. This CD reissue not only has the original five songs from the LP, but also previously unreleased versions of "Deed I Do," Sir Charles Thompson's "Almost Home" and "Moten Stomp." The classic swing singer Jimmy Rushing is joined by six veterans, including three fellow Basieites: trumpeter Buck Clayton (near the end of his playing career), trombonist Dickie Wells and drummer Jo Jones, plus Julian Dash on tenor, bassist Gene Ramey and pianist Thompson. They jam enthusiastically, if predictably on loose versions of jazz standards including "Baby Won't You Please Come Home," a blues medley, and "All of Me." ~ Scott Yanow

Who Was It Sang That Song? songs
$15.19 The Scott Gwinnell Jazz Orchestra is a modern-jazz, big band of 16 members who congregate on Tuesday nights to play at the Cadieux Cafe on the east side of Detroit, Michigan. The band focuses on playing original music as well as lesser known works by legendary jazz-composers and arrangers. The 'SGJO' is lead by pianist, Scott Gwinnell, who contributes many of the compositions/arrangements played by the band. The group consists of mainly young, prolific musicians who have a desire to play this idiom of music and bring a fresh perspective to big-band jazz that is sometimes lacking in older bands. The band has been together for 3 years now, and has changed homes from 'The Music Menu Cafe,' 'The Berklee Front,' to the 'Cadieux Cafe,' where they have been for the last 2 years. The band attracts 'full house' crowds and many jazz musicians to the club each week, where some of them sit in with the SGJO. The most notable and frequent guest is legendary trumpeter, Marcus Belgrave; he is also the featured artist on their new CD. Recent activities have been plentiful for the band. They've just recorded their second CD, consisting of original compositions and arrangements by Gwinnell. The CD is named, 'Basement Vibes' was released in April 2002. It is a collaboration with Marcus Belgrave. The group has played on Ed Love's WDET jazz-broadcast, and has been featured in publications such as 'The Detroit Free Press,' 'The Detroit News,' 'Detroit Jazz Monthly,' 'Grosse Pointe ...

At the age of 5 years old, Caleb had already asked Jesus to come into his life and it was then that he felt God calling him into the ministry. He wasn't sure what aspect of ministry!but he knew that God was calling him to a higher destiny and purpose. Caleb began studying piano at 5 years old and continued to grow musically throughout junior high and high school. He began to lead worship at his church in Idaho, which also led him to record a live praise and worship project, featuring several of his own compositions.
