All Things Must Pass album Product Description
All Things Must Pass album by George Harrison was released Jan 23, 2001 on the Capitol label. Without a doubt, Harrison's first solo recording, originally issued as a triple album, is his best. All Things Must Pass songs Drawing on his backlog of unused compositions from the late Beatles era, George crafted material that managed the rare feat of conveying spiritual mysticism without sacrificing his gifts for melody and grand, sweeping arrangements. All Things Must Pass album Enhanced by Phil Spector's lush orchestral production and Harrison's own superb slide guitar, nearly every song is excellent: "Awaiting on You All," "Beware of Darkness," the Dylan collaboration "I'd Have You Anytime," "Isn't It a Pity," and the hit singles "My Sweet Lord" and "What Is Life" are just a few of the highlights. All Things Must Pass CD music A very moving work, with a very significant flaw: the jams that comprise the final third of the album are entirely dispensable, and have probably only been played once or twice by most of the listeners who own this record. Those same jams, however, played by Eric Clapton, Carl Radle, Bobby Whitlock, and Jim Gordon (all of whom had just come off of touring as part of Delaney & Bonnie's band), proved to be of immense musical importance, precipitating the formation of Derek & the Dominos. All Things Must Pass CD music is a 2-disc set with 28 songs. ...See Full Description

| Break Out Album of the Century ~!!~ All Things Must Pass CD music No artist has ever equaled the volume and quality of songs poured out in one album as George did in this break out release. This once former member of the greatest, most influencial, rock group of all time knocked everyone in rock'n'roll on their ear with hit after hit, all from the misunderstood 'quiet beatle'. Yes, there are some questionable tracks,(not unlike some Beatle album tracks) but regardless, there are so many really great tunes, that it doesn't matter. George is supported by friends and Apple recording artists Badfinger on what turned out to be a classic legendary album. There are pop hits, and undergound hits, there are tunes that express his religious beliefs, and songs that just rock. A Legendary Rock'n'Roller at his Solo Best !~! By CycleJamoke (Houston, TX) |
| ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT - 10 STARS George Harrison, one of the most brilliant musicians of all time on his first album after the Beatles in 1970. Wow! Effotlessly merging religion and rock with music with great messages from a man like no other. Absolutely beautiful songs. Every one. Every single one. This is real music from a legendary voice that will never be surpassed. By keithsilvers (Wausau, WI, USA) |
| George Harrison´s masterpiece The "Quiet Beatle" finally broke the silence. Yup! George Harrison unveiled the remixed and remastered 30th anniversary edition of "All Things Must Pass", originally released as a triple-LP boxed-set in November 1970. The reissue features five bonus tracks: three outtakes from the original album sessions, the unreleased ballad "I Live For You," and "My Sweet Lord (2000)," a new version of his classic song. One of the highlights is surely a newly-recorded "My Sweet Lord (2000)." I feel "My Sweet Lord (2000)" is indeed an exquisite track. Especially, the new approach in Harrison's vocals and his slide guitar playing on this track is indeed spectacular. As for the sound, the remastered version of this album is indeed superb! In fact, the reissue sounds amazingly vibrant and alive. As for the new package, the album's familiar front cover is uniquely colorized and twin inner CD sleeves are altered to include backdrops of a freeway-tangled cityscape and nuclear reactor cooling towers, respectively. | Beautiful and Brilliant I remeber hearing the album as a kid and really enjoying it. I listened to it again recently and was absolutely amazed at it's brilliance and how good it sounds today. Very few works of music can transcend so much time and still be relavent. All Things Must Pass does so on every level. It is truly a masterpiece. By a reviewer (Nashville, Tennessee) |
