Although he's one of the foremost composers of healing music, Deuter is equally capable of creating compelling compositions which stand up well in their own right. The opening moments of "Temple of Silence" showcase Deuter's preeminent skills at creating a sonic cushion, one that here does full justice to Annette Cantor's haunting vocals. The following track, the spare "Gaia Dreaming Herself Awake," features delicate interplay between Cantor and Deuter's keyboards, while "Felsen im Licht" evokes the American Southwest through its imaginative use of Native American vocals.

Deuter Garden Of The Gods Songs Garden Of The Gods Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) Beautiful!!! I work for a Chain of Restaurants, Medieval style and organic / natural food. Every time we play this CD, several customers ask me who is singing and the author of Garden of the Gods. This may give you an idea of the beauty of Deuter's music. Vocal Magic The best tracks on this CD are those that feature a solo female voice as the featured instrument. The effect is unusual and striking.
The less effective tracks (fortunately not many) are native american style male vocals and pretty predictable. Submitted by a reviewer (Woodstock, NY, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
freeform female voice excellent most tracks are great & relaxing Submitted by a reviewer (las vegas, nv, usa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Wasis Diop Toxu CD (1998) (Import) France
Garden Of The Gods CD music
$27.59 TOXU is the second release from Senegalese singer and guitarist Wasis Diop, and features "Defaal Lu Wor," his cover of Talking Heads' "Once In A Lifetime," as well as 15 other tracks.
Toxu, Wasis Diop's follow-up to his breakthrough record No Sant, is an equally impressive amalgam of African rhythms, reggae, funk, blues, pop, and soul. ~ Leo Stanley
Toxu, Wasis Diop's follow-up to his breakthrough record No Sant, is an equally impressive amalgam of African rhythms, reggae, funk, blues, pop, and soul. [Mercury Records also issued an edition with bonus tracks.] ~ Leo Stanley
He was introduced to most of the world from the placement of 'Everything (Is Never Quite Enough)' on the motion picture soundtrack of 'The Thomas Crown Affair'. His Africanized version of Talking Heads' "Once In A Lifetime" (titled here "Defaal Lu Wor") brings a fresh alternate perspective of the pop classic that even David Byrne is surely proud of. His voice sounds like Eddy Grant if he were from Africa. This is the Senegalese guitarist's second album originally released in 1998. Quite simply, this is just one of those records that you can't stop listening to...it's that good. A new listening adventure awaits with every track that plays.
CD contains 3 bonus tracks.

| | Maritime Jazz Orchestra Now And Now Again CD (2002)
Garden Of The Gods music CDs
$14.65 Now and Now Again follows up on the success of 1998's Siren's Song, with Canada's Maritime Jazz Orchestra once again tackling the fabulous music of trumpeter/composer Kenny Wheeler. Joining Wheeler out in front of the 18-piece orchestra is his regular pianist John Taylor and the vocalist Norma Winstone. The disc begins with the huge, half-hour-long "Sweet Ruby Suite," which really cooks toward the end. It goes on to feature two shorter Wheeler compositions, "Now and Now Again" and "W.W." (the latter from 1984's Double, Double You), as well as John Taylor's "Pure and Simple," which appears a couple of times in drummer Peter Erskine's discography. Founder, arranger, and saxophonist Greg Carter directs the band with aplomb, summoning hard-driving swing. New York's John Hollenbeck is tremendously effective in the drum chair; Mike Murley, from the fusion band Metalwood, enlivens the ...
