Tribute To Kenny G album
$12.35 Sure that Gregg Karukas had reached the point where his lighthearted approach to smooth jazz was instantly recognizable, the keyboardist titled his last Positive Music release, You'll Know It's Me. Though he adds dashes of hip blues textures and Crusaders-flavored twists with the Fender Rhodes (hence the title, Blue Touch), Karukas' debut is another typically high-spirited effort, a reminder as to why his albums are always perched for months in the upper reaches of the radio charts. For him, it's always about lilting, instantly memorable melodies and gentle funk. There's the spring in your step on the '70s soul-meet-'90s hip-hop of "Cruisin' Your House at Midnite" followed by the gentle piano graces of "Fly Away (Thinking of You)." He's always open to throwing in a few surprises, and on "Cruisin'," he gets a little more down and dirty with the B-3. Likewise, borrowing a lick or two of inspiration from Dave Samuels, he creates a lively, tropical playground on "Club Havana." The tendency of well-connected genre artists is to use the contributions of all-stars up front, let their flash dominate. Karukas, ...

Tribute To Kenny G CD music
$15.95 This is a continuous in-the-mix CD compiled and mixed by DJ David Waxman.
Despite the rather unfortunate title, Ultra Chilled, Vol. 1 assembles some of the most established names in down-tempo electronica and trip-hop, mixing them with some relative unknowns. The flow from Dido to Gorillaz to St. Germain to Morcheeba is deceptively smooth, as is what will be most listeners' introductions to acts like Zero 7 and Goldfrapp, with each song seamlessly blending into one another. The sequencing on the two-disc set is a little predictable, with many of ...

| | Depressions Punk Rock Collection CD (2000) (Import) Import; Canada
Tribute To Kenny G songs
$17.69 Originally signed to former Animal/managing legend Chas Chandler's Barn label in 1977, this bleach-blonde quartet visually resembled the Police, with a fourth member who wore an eye patch à la Johnny Kidd (of the Pirates). Strange, indeed. Musically, this was real, honest-to-goodness punk rock and not some label-manufactured punk cash-in. What mattered most was the music, and the Depressions' certainly had both bark and bite. Their 1978 self-titled debut album was filled with edgy, stripped-down rock & roll similar to early ...

| | John-Alex Mason Town And Country CD (2008)
Tribute To Kenny G songs
$13.15 An important new voice in the blues, John-Alex Mason has a powerful and eerie voice and a quiet but emotional guitar style that is a throwback to the country blues greats of the 1930s. Early on, he was greatly affected by seeing concerts by Johnny Winter and James Cotton and, although he earned a degree in conservation biology, he found playing the blues to be much more creative. He won the Telluride Acoustic Blues Competition in 2001, developed into a ...
