On this beautifully contemplative album, Lee allows his unaccompanied bamboo flute to imitate the songs of nature, which make up the "dream" from which Buddha awakened when he meditated under the Bodhi tree. With attention, the unique tenor of each performance emerges. "Melting Snow" takes a rasping, insistent turn that sounds like a human voice. The melody in "Ocean Mist" oscillates and then doubles. "By the River" also makes use of overdubbed unison melodies to mimic a plaintive conversation or lament. The high notes in "Seabreezes" fly dizzyingly skyward. "As the Water Flows" is a full-bodied, extremely slow-moving tune that ends the album on a deeply peaceful note. This track would be ideal for the end of a yoga session as one rests in corpse pose. While some records provide a supportive environment for meditation, paying close attention to Lee's playing is a Zen meditation itself.
Originally on cassette entitled "AS THE WATER FLOWS".

| | Andy Logan Ride CD (2006)
Buddha's Dream: Music For Meditation
$10.15 "I was very surprised a few years ago when I discovered that Andy Logan from the band LITTLE AMERICA (a real faveband of mine) was out with a brand new solo album. I gave the album a really good review cause it was worth every penny of the investment. Now it's time for Andy to follow up "Last Dance On The Wild Frontier" and musically he's taken the music down to a more rootsy and swampy sounding album and it suits him well.If I should try to explain for you what type of music we're talkin about, I could say that we have a mixture of Matthew Ryan, Wilco, Ryan Adams, Steve Earle and Paul Westerberg in the man and his album. The lovely 'Halfway There' is one little pearl, the acoustic based 'Ride' with a touch of Jayhawks another, and 'Battleground', with an album progressive 70's undertone added to the sound, is also a damn good tune. And there are plenty more on here. The album is also an album that grows with each listen and when you hear Andy's raspy and naked voice singing the refrain to 'Behind The Curtain', you can't do anything else than love the man and his music." Par Winberg, Melodic.net"Logan managed to up his game with Ride. There's just a tad more grit on this album, which is how I like it. In fact, he kicks things off on the gritty side with "Ominous". Wasting no time in grabbing the listener by the shirt collar, Logan enlists the help of the iconic Ed King on this dark, rocking number. Ed lends his chops again on another track, "Help, Mr. Wizard", though it's a decidedly perkier tune.Logan rarely lets one down when he tackles the blues. Two such songs, "Low" and "Move A Little Faster" are standout tracks. The syncopated rhythms of "Mississippi" also carry a blues vibe that usually leads to hitting the repeat button on the CD player. Of course, Logan doesn't leave us without another top notch ballad. "Ghosts" is a masterful bit of melancholy that, once again, displays Andy's talent as a wordsmith." - East BankāMove A Little Fasterā- Finalist in the 2005 International Songwriting Competition, reaching the top twelve in Blues.
