Demetrius battles gladiators and savage beasts yet he is captured by wicked Messalina. Against the vicious, brilliant pageantry of the Roman arena, Demetrius loses and regains his soul. Emperor Caligula has two things on his mind: gladiatorial displays and gaining possession of the robe which fell from Jesus on the cross and is now in the hands of Demetrius (Victor Mature). Caligula and Messalina, young wife of the Emperor's uncle Claudius, work together to get the robe away from Demetrius, who ends up fighting as a gladiator. The epic sequel to the smash hit THE ROBE.  The Sequel nobody remembers
Recently I embarked on a quest for all the Biblical epics of my childhood and bought "The Robe". To my surprise,after watching the movie and asking myself yet again about what happened to Demetrius, I clicked the bonus material and found that there was a sequel I never knew about. When I saw "The Robe" as a child, it was already old. I watched Demitrius and the Gladiators and really enjoyed it. By today's standards, it's corny, but it's well acted, and even though it lacks the under-appreciated Jean Simmons (hottie!), Victor Mature does a pretty good job of carrying the film, and Susan Hayward lights up the screen. Mainly though, if you're looking for a family friendly movie to show your kids what it means to stand on your principles and that you can fall and get back up, The Robe and Demtrius and the Gladiators do nicely.

Power Beyond Driven
This was an excellent movie that will make you think on how strong is your faith towards Christianity.It is a chanllenger in life on what this whole story from the sequel and keeps people in suspense of what the main actor follows his roll as a Christian.

Forget Russell Crowe and the newest version of Gladiator; Demetrius... is the Best Gladiator Movie along with Spartacus.
