Purchase Quality Years CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Michael Jackson Thriller CD (1982) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Special Edition
Quality Years album
$5.99 The finest example of perfect disco pop, and a record that should be prescribed to musical snobs and manic depressives. The album is a true ambassador of what pop music can be. Jackson whoops and dances through a suite ...
| | Slayer World Painted Blood CD (2009)
Quality Years CD music
$10.39 Of the "big four" original thrash bands (the other three being Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth), Slayer was the least compromising and most consistent. As such, 2009's WORLD PAINTED BLOOD recalled more than the title of Slayer's 1986 ...

It's always a sign that a group is hot if they release a holiday album mere months after their debut. That's the case with *NSYNC. Their debut was released in America in late March, and in early December, Home for Christmas hit the shelves. Much of the album is devoted to newer material, with only a handful ...
| | Elvis Presley ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits CD (2002) Remastered
Quality Years songs
$10.39 Includes liner notes Peter Guralnick and Ernst Mikael Jorgensen.
Commemorating the 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, 30 #1 HITS presents a career-spanning serving of the King's chart-toppers.
Dating back to "Heartbreak Hotel" (which was inspired by a suicide note printed in the Miami Herald), most of these cuts have become indelibly etched into the fabric of pop culture and each has a unique story behind it. "Love Me Tender" has its origins in the Civil War ballad "Aura Lee," "It's Now Or Never" found Elvis Americanizing the Neapolitan ballad "O Sole Mio," and "Wooden Heart" likewise was converted from a German children's song.
This Memphis native's choice of artists to cover was equally intriguing and includes Hollywood legend Al Jolson ("Are You Lonesome Tonight?"), New Orleans soul shouter Smiley Lewis ("One Night"), blues great Big Mama Thornton ("Hound Dog"), and country titan Hank Snow ("[Now And Then There's] A Fool ...

| | Creedence Clearwater Revival Chronicle, Vol. 1 CD (1976)
Quality Years CD music
$10.45 Digitally remastered by Gary Hobish (1994, Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California).
Digitally remastered by George Horn (Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California).
Digitally remastered by George Horn (1995, Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California).
Guided, perhaps, by musical snobbery or roots-rock phobia, some people inexplicably don't like Creedence Clearwater Revival. As the kings of earnest country-inflected rock in an age when radical stances were de rigueur, CCR sported straight-ahead tunes, and may have seemed a bit unhip. But their music stands the test of time with a vengeance. For the doubtful listener, this outstanding, 20-track hits collection has evidence of their greatness in staggering abundance.
Though they produced several excellent albums, Creedence was predominantly a singles band, and CHRONICLE compiles many of their biggest hits. From the slowly building saunter of "Suzie Q" and the spooky, R&B-soaked "I Put a Spell on You" to the fierce ...
| | Rosemary Clooney Mothers & Daughters CD (1997)
Quality Years music CDs
$9.65 MOTHERS & DAUGHTERS was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance.
Although a strong seller, Mothers & Daughters is actually among Rosemary Clooney's weakest of her productive Concord period. Tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton is missing, the selections (some of which deal with children) are often overly sentimental and the jazz content (despite some brief spots for the reeds of Gary Foster) is nearly nonexistent; the occasional string section does not help. Clooney is in reasonably good voice (she was 68 at the time) and it is good to have the classic "Sisters" (from Holiday Inn) on record but some of the numbers (particularly a vocal duet with Keith Carradine on "Turn Around") are so sticky as to be difficult to sit through and it is strange to have the meaning of "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" (which is associated with Maurice Chevalier) totally changed. Pass on this one! ~ Scott Yanow

| | Ivory Joe Hunter Since I Met You Baby CD (1988)
Quality Years CD music
$7.99 A skilled songwriter and nimble pianist, and possessing an emotive, velvet voice that prefigured Nat King Cole and other such crooners, Ivory Joe Hunter was instrumental in bringing R&B to an uptown audience in the late '40s. He almost repeated the trick in the mid-'50s for the then-emerging rock & roll style (although it took uptown audiences a good long while to catch on) when he signed with ...
