Michael Caine, Joseph Bologna, Valerie Harper, Michelle Johnson, Demi Moore, Jose Lewgoy - Dir:Stanley Donen Matthew Hollis (Michael Caine) and Victor Lyons (Joseph Bologna) are two best friends who go on a vacation to Rio with their families, where Matthew winds up having a fling with Victor's sexy teenage daughter, Jennifer (Michelle Johnson). An unraveling marriage and the exotic carelessness of Rio encourages bumbling, middle-aged Matthew (touchingly played by Michael Caine) to take another grasp at life and allow his best friend's teenage daughter, Jennifer, to seduce him on the beach. But with his best friend in the next room and his own daughter (young but husky-voiced Demi Moore) bunking with Jennifer, how long can Matthew keep the affair a secret? A much-planned two-family vacation to Rio begins with disaster as one husband, Victor (Joseph Bologna), deals with divorce papers while Matthew's (Michael Caine) wife decides to vacation alone somewhere else instead, leaving the two men on vacation with only their charming and adventurous teenage daughters. Confronted by so much bare young skin, confused about the state of his marriage, and swept up in the moment, Matthew lets Victor's daughter, Jennifer (Michelle Johnson), seduce him on the beach. But Jennifer's constant declarations of love and lust make keeping the affair from Victor difficult and twists Matthew into guilty knots. The surprise appearance of Matthew's wife (Valerie Harper, magnificent in a rage) reveals another hidden affair and unravels the romantic web crisscrossing between the families. Filmed on location in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Blame It On Rio Movie Review Average Rating: (4.4 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Interesting A good film with a bit of humour, a bit of spice and above all emotions. All the ingredients needed to entertain to the fullest. Caine indeed did a good job and so did all the other cast. Submitted by Ben (Scotland) Was This Review Helpful? Blame it on being a pre-teen boy I remember watching this movie when it first came out. I love Demi and Michelle Johnson is SO sexy, cute and pretty all at the same time. Never really saw her in anything else after RIO. Michael Caine and Joseph Balogna play off each other so well and they are hilarious. Caine does a great job narrating the movie. Very smart and witty. Demi's first nude scene. Johnson nude through out the movie. The scenery of RIO is beautiful. Would love to go there. A must see for an 80's boy and their sons. Blame it on Rio Review I really enjoyed this movie. The ensemble of characters is quite hilarious, especially the comedic fencing of Michael Caine, Joseph Bologna, and Valerie Harper, which is a laugh riot. The husky-voiced Demi Moore makes a good showing also in one of her first early roles. The footage of Rio itself is also quite spectacular in the DVD widescreen version. Like Rio itself, the seduction of this movie is too good to pass up. Submitted by a reviewer (McAllen, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Very interesting Well what can I say, one of the best movies of '84. Its very enjoyble and lovely, the beautifull scenario of Rio and the beaches and landscapes are simply amazing. Watch it for the amazing scenarios and excellent chemistry between each charecter in the film. Micheal Caine does a really good job so does Joseph B. in the role of his best friend. The storyline is a bit unusual but has its funny situations. A true classic and well.....see it for yourself! Submitted by Dr Edward Hewson (Neitherlands) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$10.19 The grisly and debauched film PATHOLOGY is a juiced-up medical thriller that plays like FLATLINERS with a mean streak and a broken moral compass. Writers Mark Nelvedine and Brian Taylor have created a premise allowing for CSI-like forensics along with heaps of sex and violence, truly making the most of the film's R-rating. A high-end exploitation film with good performances, PATHOLOGY is strong enough for horror fans and should go down smoothly for non-squeamish viewers with a taste for the dark side.
Gifted med student Ted Grey (Milo Ventimiglia, HEROES) arrives at a major Washington, D.C., as an intern, where he is met with suspicion and resentment by the tightly knit group of fellow young pathologists-in-training. Soon, though, Ted is accepted into their circle---where they each take turns committing a murder so that the others may prove their mettle by figuring out the cause of death and celebrate with drug-fueled orgies among the dead bodies in the hospital. Things change for Ted, though, when his law student fiancée, Gwen (Alyssa Milano), moves to the city and helps to scare him straight. Soon, crazed Wallace Stevens-quoting leader Jake Gallo (Michael Weston) turns on Ted, putting both Ted's and Gwen's lives in serious jeopardy. The film opens with the Hippocratic Oath, and ...

$9.99 At once soft-hearted and hard-edged, TRADE provides a compassionate look at an ugly world. In Mexico City, men kidnap13-year-old Adriana (Paulina Gaitan) with the intent of selling her virginity to the highest bidder. Young Polish beauty Veronica (Alicja Bachleda) is held captive by the same men, and they threaten her young son across the ocean. As the criminals mistreat their victims, Veronica is Adriana's only solace as she is taken farther and farther away from home. Meanwhile, Adriana's older brother, Jorge (Cesar Ramos), begins to track his sister across the Mexican border into Texas and through the United States. On his mission, he runs into a Texas cop named Ray (Kevin Kline) who agrees to help him without ever really saying why.
TRADE isn't escapist fare: it's a socially conscious film that doesn't flinch from the most painful of details about the sex trade. There's rape, pedophilia, and suicide, and the film doesn't look away or glance over the horrors. This is German director Marco Kreuzpainter's first film on these shores, but he works like an assured veteran. After working for decades in the film industry, Kline is often most highly praised for his work in comedies such as DAVE and A FISH CALLED WANDA, but he's quite adept ...
