| | Charles Brown Driftin' And Dreamin' CD - Import Charles Brown Discography of CDs
England's exemplary Ace Records label does its usual brilliant job of bringing the truly essential recordings of the late swing bluesman Charles Brown to a single CD. Driftin' & Dreamin' captures Brown with Johnny Moore's under-celebrated but no less influential Three Blazers. "Travelin' Blues" (later released as "Driftin' Blues, Pt. 2") is here, as are both parts of the "Warsaw Concerto," "So Long," and a gorgeous reading of Irving Berlin's "How Deep Is the Ocean." This is one packed-to-the-gills, laid-back treat. ~ Thom Jurek
2001 compilation for the incredibly skilled blues pianist with the laid-back vocal delivery, accompanied by Johnny Moore's Three Blazers. 21 tracks recorded back in the late 40s. Ace.

Driftin' And Dreamin' album
$15.29 Derek Trucks started out as a young guitar prodigy playing alongside his uncle Butch in the Allman Brothers Band, but began following his own path in the late 1990s. ALREADY FREE is the result of a decade-plus spent sharpening his skills and growing his soul. It's probably his loosest, warmest, funkiest offering to date. While it's not markedly different from the Southern-tinged blues-rock of his earlier albums, ALREADY FREE nevertheless mines an altogether greasier ...
| | J J Cale Naturally CD (1971)
Driftin' And Dreamin' CD music
$8.15 NATURALLY has stood up over the years as a perfect debut. When released in 1971, it introduced J.J. Cale's rootsy, laid back grooves to excellent effect, and in the decades since, this album and its follow-up, REALLY, have remained classics of mellow '70s country-rock. Riding on the success and easy blues feel of Eric Clapton's cover of Cale's "After Midnight," NATURALLY goes even deeper into roots music, concocting a mixture of country, blues, and boogie that is full of downhome goodness while it drips with cool.
Cale's version of "After Midnight" is here, as is his loping "Call Me the Breeze" (later covered by Lynyrd Skynyrd), and the minimal blues "Crazy Mama" (a radio hit for Cale). The music is deceptively ...

Driftin' And Dreamin' music CDs

The resurgence of Chicago-based blues in the mid- to late 1960s came with an entirely new breed of icons to bear the torch. Among them were the decidedly electric Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Joining Muddy Waters (guitar/vocals) and Otis Spann (piano) on the aptly titled Fathers and Sons are three Butterfield Blues Band alumni: Michael Bloomfield (guitar), Sam Lay (drums), and leader Paul Butterfield (guitar). Further augmenting the personnel is Booker T. and the MG's Donald "Duck" Dunn (bass) and Buddy Miles (drums) -- who cameos during the live "Got My Mojo Workin'" finale. ...
| | Eric Clapton Riding With The King CD (2000)
Driftin' And Dreamin' songs
$10.15 Although Eric Clapton and B.B. King's long friendship originated during a chance meeting and subsequent jam session at New York City's Cafe Au Go Go in 1967, the idea for a collaborative album only crystallized during the sessions for King's 1997 album DEUCES WILD. The resulting record, 2000's RIDING WITH THE KING, is a stellar event, thanks to a wealth of rich material and a solid supporting cast including Jimmie Vaughan, Joe Sample, and Steve Gadd.
B.B. King's extensive catalog provides a wellspring of inspiration, including signature songs such as the smoldering "Three O' Clock Blues," alongside lesser-known numbers like the ribald shuffle "Days Of Old" and the LIVE AT THE REGAL chestnut "Help The Poor." Elsewhere, King and Clapton look to guitarist Big Bill Broonzy (an acoustic ...
