Compilation producers: Craig Balsam, Cliff Chenfeld. Non Stop '90s Rock is a very solid 18-song collection that does a good job of weaving together the various strands of American alternative pop/rock into a seamlessly listenable collection. There is a home for everything from the glorious mope blues of Mazzy Star's "Fade into You" to the goofy pop-punk of the Presidents of the United States of America's "Lump" to the insanely breezy dance-pop of LEN's "Steal My Sunshine" to the hooky heartland rock of the Gin Blossoms' "Hey Jealousy" to the shiny sophisticated pop of Deep Blue Something's "Breakfast at Tiffany's." They even found room for the cuddly Butthole Surfers ("Pepper") and the blink-and-you-missed-him Eagle-Eye Cherry ("Save Tonight"). There is nothing remotely dangerous or wild about this collection at all. For that side of the '90s, you will have to look elsewhere. If what you need is a straightforward, melodically pleasing collection that sounds like a hip commercial or very unhip college radio station of the '90s, then this is a sterling choice. ~ Tim Sendra 2001 might seem a mite too soon to indulge in '90s nostalgia, but that didn't stop NON STOP 90's ROCK from making its way onto the charts. Now, whether you were there or not you can experience those fanciful, pre-Britney-and-Christina days without the bother of inventing a time travel machine. This compilation sticks mostly to the mainstream end of the post-Nirvana alternative rock sound that reached ...

$11.99 '80s Pop Hits is a three-disc set from Sony with a heavy emphasis on ballads, many of which continue to be played on adult contemporary radio stations across the U.S. The relatively upbeat material -- like Wham!'s "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," Toto's ...

Frequency 99: Greatest Hits Of The '90S
$11.99 Though the songs on 90s Pop Hits definitely span the entire decade (Mandy Moore's 1999 track "Candy" is followed by Big Audio Dynamite II's "Rush," from 1991, for example), much of what is on the three-disc, forty-song compilation is taken from the dance/R&B realm of the early '90s. Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Clivillés & Cole, M People, Xscape, and Sunscreem are all included, but so are rock (though ...

Frequency 99: Greatest Hits Of The '90S
$14.29 Photographer: Van Poucke. Arranger: Alain Goraguer. Love and the Beat, Vol. 2 picks up where its predecessor left off, being not so much a sequel as a direct continuation with overlapping years. Given how few of Serge Gainsbourg's recordings are available in the United States, this is a second treasure trove of his European hits, but it's not as satisfying as Vol. 1 because of the inclusion of numerous remixes rather than original versions. This does not mean, however, that Love and the Beat, Vol. 2 is without merit. Indeed, the inclusion of "Du Jazz dans le ...
