| | Led Zeppelin In Through The Out Door CD - Import Led Zeppelin Discography of CDs
UK remastered reissue of 1979 album, packaged in a limited edition miniature LP sleeve with original album artwork including brown bag slipcover. 7 tracks. Warner. 2003.
Led Zeppelin: Robert Plant (vocals); Jimmy Page (acoustic & electric guitars, background vocals); John Paul Jones (synthesizer, bass); John Bonham (drums). Limited-edition reissue features a miniaturized LP sleeve replica of the original album artwork. Somewhere between Presence and In Through the Out Door, disco, punk, and new wave had overtaken rock & roll, and Led Zeppelin chose to tentatively embrace these pop revolutions, adding synthesizers to the mix and emphasizing John Bonham's inherent way with a groove. The album's opening number, "In the Evening," with its stomping rhythms and heavy, staggered riffs, suggests that Zeppelin haven't deviated from their course, but by the time the rolling shuffle of "South Bound Suarez" kicks into gear, it's apparent that they've regained their sense of humor. After "South Bound Suarez," the group tries a variety of styles, whether it's an overdriven homage to Bakersfield county called "Hot Dog," the layered, Latin-tinged percussion and pianos of "Fool in the Rain," or the slickly seductive ballad "All My Love." "Carouselambra," a lurching, self-consciously ambitious synth-driven number, and the slow blues "I'm Gonna Crawl" aren't quite as impressive as the rest of the album, but the record was a graceful way to close to Zeppelin's career, even if it wasn't intended as the final chapter. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine The last proper Led Zeppelin album shows the group's response to punk's encroachment to be a regal shrug and a continuation of the outsized heavy rock that made the band a legend. There are a few interesting stylistic detours--the almost salsa-like piano that drives "Fool in the Rain," the country-flavored hoedown of "Hot Dog"--but for the most part this is 1970s rock in the grandest style. John Paul Jones in particular struts his stuff here, his synthesizer powering "Carouselambra," Zeppelin's furthest excursion into prog rock, and sweetening "All My Love," a balladic requiem for Robert Plant's late son, Karac. Zeppelin sounds so assured on IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR it's hard to believe the end of the band was just around the corner.

$17.09 This limited-edition release contains eight tracks and a mini-LP sleeve. Houses of the Holy follows the same basic pattern as Led Zeppelin IV, but the approach is looser and more relaxed. Jimmy Page's riffs rely on ringing, folky hooks as much as they do on thundering blues-rock, giving the album a lighter, more open atmosphere. While the pseudo-reggae ...

In Through The Out Door
$7.89 Iron Maiden: Bruce Dickinson (vocals); Adrian Smith (guitar, background vocals); Dave Murray, Janick Gers (guitar); Steve Harris (keyboards, bass); Nicko McBrain (drums). Recorded at Guillaume Tell Studios, Paris, France. "The Wicker Man" was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. Personnel: Bruce Dickinson (vocals); Dave Murray , Janick Gers, Adrian Smith (guitar); Steve Harris (keyboards); Nicko McBrain (drums). Audio Mixer: Kevin Shirley. Recording information: Guillaume Tell Studios, Paris, France. The return of Iron Maiden's "classic" Dickinson/Harris/Murray/Smith/McBrain lineup (plus third guitarist Janick Gers) in 1999 led to an incredibly successful world tour that saw the New Wave of British Heavy Metal legends commanding stages with the same unmitigated power and authority as they had during their mid-'80s heyday. But the question remained as to whether the reconstituted group would be able to carry this momentum into a studio setting and recapture the songwriting chops of its glory years. This question made Brave New World one of the most highly anticipated metal releases of 2000, and thankfully, the eventual ...

Bon Jovi: Jon Bon Jovi (vocals, guitar); Richie Sambora (guitar); David Bryan, Tico Torres, Alec John Such. Digitally remastered using 20-bit technology by George Marino (1998, Sterling Sound, New York, New York). Digitally remastered German version features a CD-ROM video of "Keep The Faith." This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Keep the Faith reintroduces Bon Jovi after almost four years of side projects and hiatuses. The musical climate shifted considerably in that time, and this fact hadn't been lost on the band. Faith blatantly brings to the surface the Bruce Springsteen influence that was always lurking in Bon Jovi's sound and uses it to frame Faith's more serious cast of the band's established pop-metal groove. "I Believe" and "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" amp up the blue-collar gospel revivalist feel of Springsteen's "Tunnel of Love," dropping in triumphant ...
