| Fanfare For The Common Man Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Excellent Version of ELP Hits at a great price! Why the USA record companies can't do these (double greatest hit sets of '70's artists) are beyond me. This double set is excellent, a top job was done by the remastering and the selections are near flawless. My ONLY complaint is why no greatest hits anywhere will give Karn Evil #9 with the first three impressions (about 12 minutes)? Other than that you get the full Tarkus, the full Fanfare For The Common Man, the full Pirates - no fillers and no "new selections or new versions of old selections" which seem to ruin some greatest hits packages. If you like ELP, buy it! Submitted by a reviewer (San Antonio, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
ELP, the masters of the REAL progressive rock... When I listened to their super hit
"Fanfare For The Common Man", I felt like I was standing in the middle of the empty
Montreal Olympic Stadium, just like in the music video and the feeling was overwhelming.
I absolutely recommend this album for every fan of progressive rock.
Emerson, Lake & Palmer really are the masters at their tasks... Submitted by a reviewer (Helsinki, Finland) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Fanfare For The Common Man album
$38.09 DREAMS is a 4-CD box set compiling in chronological order tracks by the Allman Brothers Band, as well as tracks by bands featuring one or more member of the Allman Brothers Band and solo performances by Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts.
Recorded between 1966 & 1988. Includes a 32-page illustrated booklet and liner notes by John Swenson.
Like nearly all box sets, DREAMS has plenty to recommend it-and a few nagging drawbacks. The set's chief shortcoming is its two conflicting goals: providing an overview of the Allmans' history, thus attracting buyers seeking the ultimate hits package, and including enough unreleased tracks and rarities to appeal to the band's most devoted fans. As ...
| | Poco Forgotten Trail (1969-74) CDs (1990)
Fanfare For The Common Man CD music
$15.95 This compilation contains 38 songs, including many new remixes from original master tapes, 6 previously unreleased songs, alternate versions of 3 others, and a comprehensive 36 page booklet, with historic liner notes and photos.
This excellent two-disc collection captures Poco's finest moments from the days when they were laying down the template for all the country-rock music that was to follow. It's hard to remember, but when the Eagles first hit the scene, they were thought by many to be a Poco-wannabe band. Listen to this set and you'll hear why. The Forgotten Trail (1969-1974) culls tracks from Poco's first eight albums, as well as unreleased cuts and singles. From the classic anthem "Pickin' Up the Pieces," which kicks things off, through "You Better Think Twice," "C'mon," "Kind Woman," "From the Inside," "A Good Feelin' to Know," "Crazy Eyes," and on and on, ...
| | Don Felder Airborne CD (1983)
Fanfare For The Common Man music CDs
$9.69 1983's Airborne by Eagles guitarist Don Felder is truly style over substance. For a member of such a phenomenally successful and visible group to release something so nondescript is really food for thought. Felder produced this effort, and he has friends galore pack the proceedings with lots of musicianship, the late Carlos Vega is on drums, as are Joe Vitale, Russ Kunkel, and Tris Imboden; fellow latter-day Eagle Timothy B. Schmit provides backing vocals, and there are appearances by Jeff Lorber, Joe Lala, Kenny Loggins, Dave Mason, and Albhy Galuten, but those talents aren't enough to pull this one out of the bargain bins. With a mega-producer like Galuten contributing, one would think it prudent to invite him onboard to co-produce: His magic is part of what is missing here. The record sounds like "The Heat Is On," Glenn Frey's very ...
| | Mike Bloomfield Super Session CD (1968) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Fanfare For The Common Man songs
$6.75 A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," "You Don't Love Me"), to heady jams ("His Holy Modal Majesty"), to big-band jazz ("Harvey's Tune").
All the tunes make effective templates for the kind off-the-cuff music-making that in less capable hands might have resulted in simple noodling. In fact, although Bloomfield and Stills don't play together ...

$13.95 Betawave BioI started exploring music at a young age. I began on the piano, but that shifted into percussion soon after. Not being content with the limited expression of melody that drums offered, I decided to learn how to play guitar. Things started slowly as I was learning, but that didn't stop me and some friends from jamming around in my basement for a few years. I played guitar in jazz band almost all through High School, and even had a 3 piece band which I sang ...
