Black & White; Closed Captioned; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish One night in a European town during the 1920s a strangler is on the loose and a man named Kleinman joins the mob searching for him. When suspicions turn upon Kleinman himself, his night becomes a fantastical succession of surreal episodes and encounters as he seeks safety from the hysterical townspeople. A killer lurks in the dark corners of an odd little European town--a mysterious stranger who brutally strangles his victims. When the circus comes to visit, the madman steps up his pace, commencing a ghastly murder spree. Meanwhile, a nondescript local man named Kleinman finds himself accused of the crimes by an angry mob. And every effort Kleinman makes to clear himself ends up making him look more and more guilty. Woody Allen's black-and-white mood piece is dark and eerie and very funny, with new twists and turns lurking behind each shadow. Once again he has amassed a stellar, eclectic cast, including John Cusack, Kathy Bates, Jodie Foster, Donald Pleasence, John Malkovich, Fred Gwynne, Lily Tomlin, and Madonna, among others. Shadows And Fog film
$9.79 The sci-fi satire SLEEPER is often hailed as the best of Woody Allen's early comedies, which relied mostly on slapstick and quick verbal asides, but still had more than their share of comic intelligence. SLEEPER tells the tale of Miles Monroe (Allen), who is accidentally cryogenically frozen following a minor operation. Released 200 years later, in 2173, Miles blunders his way through a bizarre future, featuring plenty of props and situations for Allen to mine for laughs. Eventually he meets vapid, hedonistic "poet" Luna Schlosser (Diane Keaton), with whom he eventually joins a rebel group opposed to the oppressive government. As in his earlier BANANAS and LOVE AND DEATH, Allen's character stumbles into a revolutionary plot, revealing the anti-authoritarianism that will appear ...

$9.69 Alice Tate (Mia Farrow) is a rich Manhattan wife who spends her days shopping, getting pedicures, going to the salon, working out with her personal trainer, and seeing her chiropractor. But when she can't get rid of her back pain, she goes to an Asian herbalist (the wonderful Keye Luke, in his final performance) who gives her special herbs to cure what's really ailing her. Reluctantly, she takes these magical potions, which open up a whole new world for her, releasing her inner self, making her invisible, and allowing her to see dead ex-boyfriends. She begins to regret having given up her career in the theater and considers becoming a writer. Meanwhile, she is getting ...

$9.79 CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS is Woody Allen's most mature, most profound film. He admits his sin to Ben (Sam Waterston), a friend, a patient, and a learned rabbi who is losing his eyesight but not his faith. Judah turns to his brother Jack, who is connected to the mob and can make Dolores disappear. Allen plays Cliff Stern, a documentary filmmaker ...

Shadows And Fog movie DVD
$31.99 The Will Ferrell comedy ANCHORMAN is packaged with a second adventure for the macho San Diego newsman, WAKE UP RON BURGUNDY.
It's the early 1970s and the local anchorman is not only a source of news but a revered local hero. In San Diego, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), a mustachioed bachelor with a taste for scotch, unparalleled passion for the jazz flute, and a near-telepathic connection with his spirited mutt, Baxter, is that man. Rounding out Ron's testosterone-heavy news team are his close friends--cologne-obsessed man-on-the-street Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), sports reporter Champ Kind (Dave Koechner), and mentally challenged weatherman Brick Tamland (Steve Carrell). Their male camaraderie is challenged, though, when producer Ed Harken (Fred Willard), pressured by changing times, brings the first female reporter, ambitious Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), to the team. Ron finds his chauvinistic ideals compromised further when he starts falling in love with her. Fueled by Ferrell's singularly loopy persona, ANCHORMAN joins the long list of comedies which have successfully poked fun at the styles and mores of the '70s. Here, with Ferrell's script and Adam McKay's direction, the character of Ron Burgundy becomes a full-bodied comic creation whose possibilities ...
