Brian Wilson's Immortal Harmonies Smiley Smile is a magnificently creative combination of whimsy, humor and serious contemplation of experimental harmonies. I owned this album the year it came out and held onto it for many years thereafter. I played it for students and others throughout the years. My background is in classical music, but my cultural heritage is music of the 60's!This album related to the visual arts at the time in its intricate weavings of harmonic passages agains the "free-association" lyrics that served no purpose other than to carry the melody. The use of humorous, whimsy was a genius touch that brought these high-falutin' harmonies with their classical roots back to earth for all to enjoy.
Ten thumbs up!!! I sang some of the songs to my teenage grandson and he was going crazy trying to find the album. I couldn't remember the name until I started searching!! I'm a happy woman! Submitted by jpaleolo1 (Wyncote, Pennsylvania) Was This Smiley Smile/Wild Honey Music Review Helpful? YesNo
