| | Alan Pasqua Standards CD (2007)
Arkansas music CDs
$12.89 Keyboardist Alan Pasqua is a musicians' musician, having played with scores of top names in both jazz and rock for over three decades. With STANDARDS, he gets back to basics, delivering a straight-ahead set of performances that resonate with a restraint and tastefulness only a player of Pasqua's vast experience could offer. With able assistance from the great Peter Erskine on drums and bassist Dave Carpenter, the New Jersey native works his way through chestnuts like "The Way You Look ...

| | Alphonse Mouzon Jazz In Bel-Air CD (2008)
Arkansas album
$13.79 Best known for his jazz fusion work in the 1970s, Alphonse Mouzon has a style that has always tended toward the smooth and sophisticated. This holds especially true of 2008's JAZZ IN BEL-AIR, a laidback date that finds Mouzon and his ensemble exploring smooth crossover jazz inspired ...

Arkansas music CDs
$13.59 This 29-track collection of mostly previously unreleased sides recorded in 1944 with the New Orleans piano player known only as Jelly Belly is an anomaly in the New Orleans guitarist's catalogue. Throughout CAROLINA BLUES, Guitar Slim is playing acoustic guitar in a country blues style more associated with the Mississippi Delta than the more sophisticated New Orleans-style electric blues of the rest of ...

| | Contrast Fade Back In CD (2004)
Arkansas album
$13.85 Like Reckoning-era R.E.M., the Contrast invoke rural landscapes where lovers weep over fieldstones and leathery farmers listen to Big Star. Frontman David Reid rolls out streams of pop culture references and wistful romantic angst in an often impenetrable English drawl that owes as much to Tenpole Tudor as it does Michael Stipe. On the Contrast's third release for the U.K. indie Rainbow Quartz, the Peterborough jangle pop quartet expounds on the brooding, guitar-driven sound of 2002's Wireless Days with a winning combination of punchy rave-ups ("Catch the Spark") and hook-filled road songs ("Give Me One More Chance"). Comparisons to Television and Material Issue are apt, but this time around the group leans more toward the angular attack of Spoon and the '60s melodicism of the Smithereens. Fade Back In resonates ...

Arkansas CD music
$16.45 Pierre Nadeau began his music career in 1965 as a keyboard player in a band called “Terry and the Telstars” from Lewiston Maine. This first band won a state wide battle of the bands sponsored by VOX music products which lead to a recording session in Boston in 1968 and the subsequest release of his first 45 record. From 1968 through 1970 Pierre’s band was the opening act at various venues in Maine and Canada for such artists as Jimi Hendrix, Tommy James and the Shondells, The Blues Magoos, and several other artists from that time period. During the 1970’s, Pierre moved to Madison Wisconsin and toured the Mid-West with a band called “Poorboy” which had a solo album and opened several shows for Ted Nugent, Suzie Quatro, Tommy Shaw with M.S.FUNK and many more. In the late 1970’s he moved to Rhode Island and played in a band called “Sundance”. In 1981 he moved back to Maine and toured with a band called “Katahdin” whichhad previously released record album.During the 1980’s Pierre wrote and recorded his first solo album called “Good Things” (come to those who wait). Along with this record he produced and starred in a music video called “Girls-Boys” from a soundtrack on the record. However, neither the album or video were publicly distributed. In 2002 and 2003, the "Girls-Boys" music video aired nationally in Canada on the Musique Plus Network on a show called Dollar Clips. The host was Louis-Jose Houde, a well known Canadian comedian. The “Girls-Boys” video soon became the #1 requested video on the show and spawned a parody video called “Dans Les Speedo De Pierre Nadeau” which also became popular on the Musique Plus Network. Eventually, Pierre developed a following because everything about him was unknown ...
