John Fogerty Eye Of The Zombie Songs Eye Of The Zombie Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) Fogerty for sure. This CD doesn't have the punch that Centerfield or Blue Moon Swamp have but if you like John Fogerty like I do, it's still well worth the price. underrated album This is the most "underated" album by John Fogerty. Eye of the Zombie, Headlines and Change in the Weather are fantastic songs!! Submitted by Randell.holt (Nashville, Tennessee) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
The Master The critics don't know. This is an outstanding album. JCF at his rocking best!! A must have for any serious JCF collector or anyone who truly appreciates great rock 'n roll music. Your loss if you don't buy it!! Submitted by Randell.holt (Spiing Hill, Tn., U.S.A) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Although considered Fogerty's nadir, it's good For the follow-up to John Fogerty's smash comeback album "Centerfield", "Eye Of The Zombie" was considered a lackluster disappointment. It's also considered the absolute bottom of the Fogerty/CCR barrel, sharing that same fate with CCR's final album from 1972, "Mardi Gras". This is probably also Fogerty's most dated album, especially with more use of synthesizers. However, it's still a very good album. Although this is not a concept album at all, some songs don't seem to fit appropriately on here, despite the album's title. Some of those songs are "Knocking On Your Door" and the dinky "Soda Pop", and I don't care too much for that one. Those songs would have at least felt right on the "Centerfield" album, but not here. This is the only thing I've found wrong on this album. However, I'll still even listen to dinky little songs like "Soda Pop" just for a little fun, or for a guilty pleasure. Anyway, even these little mistakes will not prevent me from giving "EOTZ" a full 5-star rating, and other songs like the blues-rocking "Change In The Weather" and "Wasn't That A Woman" are quite stunning. The album also closes perfectly with a very nice up-to-mid tempo ballad in "Sail Away". Submitted by Ron Haynes, Jr. (Covington/Cornelia, GA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A great underrated John Fogerty album! Although this album has been considered the nadir of John Fogerty's career and the bottom of the barrel in his catalog, I can't help but say I love it! I'm sure the failure of the album had to do with some of the songs which made the album's title look confusing, especially "Soda Pop", which is the only track he stumbled on. The album also went into a darker direction, opposite from the prodecessor "Centerfield". Regardless, I still consider it to be an outstanding work from Fogerty. He did some of his most stunning guitar playing on "Change In The Weather" most definately, and who could argue about that! I consider this album just as magnificent as anything else he's ever done, even during his C.C.R. days. However, the only other aspect of this album is that it's only for John Fogerty's most dedicated audience and for completists. Submitted by Ron Haynes, Jr. (Clarkesville, Ga.) Eye Of The Zombie songs
$15.05 What unifies this motley assortment of non-hit 1950s singles, mostly rockabilly in style, although there are a few R&B cuts tossed in? All were done for the Modern group of labels. Modern and its subsidiaries were much more known for early West Coast blues, R&B, and black vocal group sounds than they were for straight rock & roll. This fair but unexceptional sampler illustrates why that was the case: the singers were imitators, not innovators. Ploughing through the generous allotment of 32 cuts, there's the sense that Modern was throwing a lot of stuff against the studio wall to see what might come of attempts to ride the rock & roll craze (it was thought of as a craze back then, ...

$14.49 The third installment in the Black Flame label's New York Lounge series is yet another pleasing, if hardly groundbreaking, collection of loungey electronica -- little of it demonstrating any kind of conceptual connection with the city, but all of it well chosen and much of it enticingly obscure.
