Gene Simmons, Mel Harris, Robert Guillaume, Rutger Hauer, Susan MacDonald, William Russ - Dir:Gary Sherman Nick Randall is an urban bounty hunter, a lethal professional who collects society's garbage for a living. Malak Al Rahim is an international terrorist with a plan to turn Los Angeles into a bloody battlefield. But when the CIA uses Randall as bait to trap the madman, the hunter becomes the hunted. And when the violence hits Randall's home, the bounty becomes a mission of very personal vengeance. Filmic version of the 1950s television show starring Steve McQueen. In this modern update of the classic Steve McQueen western television series, Hauer plays Nick Randall, a former CIA man turned bounty hunter who becomes the bait in an FBI-CIA conspiracy and finds himself pursued by an international terrorist who pushes him to the limit of survival. It seems that Nick and the terrorist, Malak Al Rahim, are linked by the past, and the two embark on a deadly cat-and-mouse game that only one man can win. Of note, Hauer's character is mentioned as being the great-grandson of McQueen's character in the original series. The Starmaker Entertainment "Collector's Edition" of "Wanted Dead or Alive" carries the catalog ID# 99108 and features 13 minutes, 8 seconds worth of supplementary material. Included in this package are Coming Attractions, a Rutger Hauer film retrospective, and interviews with a demolitions expert, Hauer, Robert Guillaume, and Gene Simmons. The film itself runs 104 minutes. Wanted Dead Or Alive Reviews: "...Nice performances are turned in by Hauer's two law enforcement buddies....[The film has] a uniquely entertaining payoff..."
-- Brit., Variety "...A spellbinding thriller....One that fills you with an uneasy mixture of excitement and dread..."

Wanted Dead Or Alive Movie Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) rutger hauer power hour when i was 21 years old in the mid 1980s, this movie was a non stop thrill ride. now, as an almost forty year old, i find this film to be a piece of nostalgia which highlighted Rutger Hauer's(attempted) rise to action hero status. Also noteworthy is Gene Simmon's( of the rock group Kiss)role as a terrorist bent on the destruction of Hauer's character. Honestly, Rutger Hauer never quite molded into the quintessential "second tier" action hero.(like Van damme or even Steven Segal) He needed to get better scripts and work on buffing up and streamlining his image. This isnt grammy winning stuff.... But there is plenty of action to go around. Submitted by jimdandy34 (nashville, TN) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Hard Edge Action Thriller Of the "Stop The Terrorist" movies, this one
ranks as one of the best.
Made long before recent events, this movie shows how vulnerable our nation can be to terrorist attack.
Given a week to hunt down a deadly international madman, ex-CIA agent turned bounty hunter Nick Randall not only has to bring in his $250,000 bounty, but thward the scheme this madman has cooked up to kill 60,000 residents of L.A.
With some of the most blunt, realistic action violence on film to date, "Wanted" has and will continue to be a cult action favorite. Submitted by a reviewer (South Fulton, TN) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Wanted Dead Or Alive film
$15.45 The feature film debut of Hayao Miyazaki (NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, PRINCESS MONONOKE), THE CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO depicts one adventure of the master thief Lupin and his rough-around-the-edges gunman, Jigen. Something of a cross between Batman, James Bond, and Cary Grant's character in TO CATCH A THIEF, Lupin is a suave ladies' man who is also given to feats of athletic daring, aided by a gadget filled belt that gets him out of more than a few scrapes. The plot has Lupin and Jigen traveling to the sleepy little country of Cagliostro and coming to the aid of the unwilling fiance of the diabolical Count Cagliostro. After CAGLIOSTRO, Miyazaki stopped creating "slapstick" feature films in favor of more serious fare; CAGLIOSTRO shows, however, that he is quite capable of delivering the goods in this genre. Based on the Lupin comics by the artist Monkey Punch, CAGLIOSTRO is a great heist/chase film that surpasses most similar live ...
