Dawn is a heady, reflective time that inspires some of the best poetry. On A PLACE CALLED MORNING, composer Bill Douglas melds classic poetry, on the general theme of awakening and sunrise, with sweetly melodic choral and orchestral music. The effect is deeply warming. The title track comes from Emily Dickinson's meditation on Heaven. This album is another powerful collaboration between Bill Douglas and the fine singers of the Ars Nova Chorus.
