Dangerous Road
$38.09 DREAMS is a 4-CD box set compiling in chronological order tracks by the Allman Brothers Band, as well as tracks by bands featuring one or more member of the Allman Brothers Band and solo performances by Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts.
Recorded between 1966 & 1988. Includes a 32-page illustrated booklet and liner notes by John Swenson.
Like nearly all box sets, DREAMS has plenty to recommend it-and a few nagging drawbacks. The set's chief shortcoming is its two conflicting goals: providing an overview of the Allmans' history, thus attracting buyers ...
| | Poco Forgotten Trail (1969-74) CDs (1990)
Dangerous Road
$15.29 This compilation contains 38 songs, including many new remixes from original master tapes, 6 previously unreleased songs, alternate versions of 3 others, and a comprehensive 36 page booklet, with historic liner notes and photos.
This excellent two-disc collection captures Poco's finest moments from the days when they were laying down the template for all the country-rock music that was to follow. It's hard to remember, but when the Eagles first hit the scene, they were thought by many to be a Poco-wannabe band. Listen to this set and you'll hear why. The Forgotten Trail (1969-1974) culls tracks from Poco's first eight albums, as well as unreleased cuts and singles. From the classic anthem "Pickin' Up the Pieces," which kicks things off, ...
| | Tab Benoit Wetlands CD (2002)
Dangerous Road
$11.55 Recorded during a month in Louisiana and sounding it, Tab Benoit's sixth album is a swampy example of the best of that state's music. Rocking, bluesy, and filled with soul, guitarist/vocalist Benoit keeps his sound stripped down to just a three-piece, giving his voice and greasy guitar plenty of room to maneuver. From obscure Professor Longhair second-line tunes ("Her Mind Is Gone") to a cover from zydeco king Boozoo Chavis ("Dog Hill") to a version of Otis Redding's "These Arms of Mine" that makes it seem like a lost New Orleans classic, Benoit traverses a lot of territory over this hour of music. ...

Marc Bolan & T. Rex never troubled the pop culture radar in the US beyond one minor hit single, making them perhaps the biggest UK stars to never leave any significant stateside impression. As a result, their catalogue has rarely ...

| | Eric Underwood Natural Selection CD (2009)
Dangerous Road
$13.95 Natural Selection (Limited Edition) is Eric Underwood’s third independent CD release but his first solo effort. In many ways this album is a collection of songs whose release date is long overdue. The first eight songs are produced by Kazutaka Noda and all these but one, “This Is Not a Love Song,” are from the original unofficial EP Natural Selection released in 2007. Tracks 9 and 10 are unreleased material produced by Don DiLego in 2004 and the final track produced by Eric and recorded on his Mac at the end of 2007. The songs for the Natural Selection EP (tracks 2-8) were written after Eric moved from the Bronx to Harlem in New York City at the end of a long relationship. The project, which started as a demo, developed into a more polished acoustic album with each song having a character of it’s own. Many of the songs actually represent people in Eric’s life at the time. The inspiration for these songs came after a long break from writing and performing ...
