| | Ralph Carney I Like You (A Lot) CD (1999)
And The Mill City Seven songs
$13.15 I LIKE YOU (A LOT) is quite a leap forward from Carney's eclectic but low-fi RALPH SOUNDS, a catalog of the Akron-born musician's small-scale solo experiments. He still commands the impressive arsenal of brass and woodwind instruments that he has employed alongside such individuals as Tom Waits and Kramer; Carney twirls an especially sweet licorice stick on a delectable cover of Don Redmond's urbane 1932 swinger "Chant of the Weed." But I LIKE YOU is a much more willfully bizarre album, clearly influenced by such outsiders as the Residents and the Los Angeles Free Music Society.
Foremost among Carney's newest production tricks are the electronics and drum-machine programming (courtesy of Fred Tricola) stirred into "Helga," the dervish-like klezmer of "Far Oud," the stinging guitar on "Funky Fred From France," and the roiling fusion of "Mile's Corner." Carney's chameleon-like vocals are featured throughout I LIKE YOU, most memorably on the medical case-file swamp-blues of "Fluids" and ...

| | Michel Camilo Spain Again CD (2006)
And The Mill City Seven CD music
$10.69 Michel Camilo, the New York-based, Dominican-born pianist, and Tomatito, the Spanish flamenco guitarist, recorded a well-received duets album called Spain in 2000, and this sequel is intended to take the collaboration to the next level. Spain Again does. It's a bravura performance that pushes both men into strange and satisfying new territories and spotlights the abilities of each to find places where they are mutually comfortable and inspired. As on the first pairing, the musicianship is flawless throughout, the two virtuosos dancing around each other's melodies, creating fascinating, harmonious bridges, building upon and toying with structural ideas beyond what each composition calls for. Camilo's complex jazz piano inventions suddenly give way to Tomatito's spellbinding acoustic guitar runs; the two meet someplace in the middle, enjoy the freedom ...

| | Fat Daddy Gully Deluxe CD (2009)
And The Mill City Seven songs
$9.35 Thx for checking the music!!What is GULLY DELUXE? It’s when you come from nothing but you always do your best. There is nothing cookie cutter on this album… there is undeniable underground edge that can only come from a true hip-hop head. At the same time, there are no explicit lyrics, so this can be (& should be) played anywhere. The album opens up with a clever advertisement. It then starts with a kicker…named “Out of Work Flow”, dealing with the frustrations of looking for employment & opportunity. “Drop A Jewel On Em” is a MC’s delight which touches on raw lyricism & an overview of the personality of Saukar. The next song, “Pullin A…way” is about dealing with the uncomfortable moment in relationships when the object of desire is no longer interested. The flow goes though a change with “Astronaut” with a more braggadocious style, but intelligent none the less. The pounding & trippiness of the instrumental “Infinity” is sure to be candy to the ear. “Shine Together” is a philanthropist call for people to see past their differences ...
