Greatest Hits album
$15.18 Females dominated the 2010 Grammy Awards, with Taylor Swift becoming the youngest artist to win Album of the Year and Beyoncé taking home more awards than any female in Grammy history. This compilation gives just as much screen time to the male contenders, though, including big winners like Kings of Leon and Green Day. An obligatory U2 track is included, as are songs from more than a few of the previous year's nominees (Adele, Katy Perry, ...
| | Miranda Lambert Revolution CD (2009)
Greatest Hits CD music
$10.39 While Miranda Lambert's first two albums spun tales of kerosene fires, bar fights, and firearmed vengeance, REVOLUTION finds the Texan taking some degree of comfort in her relationship with Blake Shelton, whose influence helps govern the album's mellow moments. Lambert has never played by anyone's rules, be they dictated by Nashville or society in general, but she has carved out her own set of principles over the course of a four-year career. Accordingly, REVOLUTION offers a strong, cohesive take on what has quickly become the "Lambert sound:" a blend of lilting ballads and loud, fire-breathing anthems, many of which owe as much to rock & roll as country. She's more comfortable with the slower songs this time around, and ...
| | Eva Cassidy Songbird CD (1998)
Greatest Hits music CDs
$13.45 This posthumous anthology is the perfect introduction to the astonishing vocal talents of Eva Cassidy, a young, relatively unknown singer who died of cancer at 33, just as her career was beginning to gain steam. Cassidy, a native of Washington D.C., gained local favor with her pure, straightforward tone and her lovely, tasteful interpretations of everything from standards to gospel to contemporary pop.
SONGBIRD is a definitive best-of selection that picks from Cassidy's studio albums and shows the depth and breadth of her skills. SONGBIRD's perfection as a compilation is in its song choice, which covers Cassidy's takes on gospel ("Oh, Had I A Golden Thread"), soul (Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready"), pop (Sting's "Fields of Gold"), and well-known standards ("Over the Rainbow"). Cassidy's own perfection stems from her ability to bring the same precise, inventive phrasing and crystalline tone to each individual song, regardless of genre, making it indelibly her own. This collection became a best-selling number-one album in the U.K., and with good reason.
Songbird is a posthumous anthology culled from the album Live At Blues Alley and her other solo release, Eva By Heart, along with one track from her 1992 duet album with Chuck Brown titled The Other Side. Blix label.

Greatest Hits album
$11.99 Fantastic 2007 UK compilation that features all 23 tracks found on Ronstadt's original Greatest Hits (1976) and Greatest Hits, Vol. Two (1980). Although often overlooked today, Ronstadt was one of the most popular female vocalists throughout the '70s and '80s, helping to usher many musical styles (from Country Rock to New Wave) into the charts. Plus, she's a fabulous singer to boot! She successfully covered a variety of oldies like 'It's So Easy', 'Tracks Of My Tears' and 'Ooh Baby Baby' and managed to make them ...
| | Amber Digby Passion, Pride And What Might Have Been CD (2008)
Greatest Hits CD music
$16.59 Amber Digby "Passion, Pride and What Might Have Been" is quickly becoming one of the best selling projects for Heart of Texas Records. The project, by one of traditional Country Music's brightest new stars, is filled with hard-core country shuffles, ballads and outstanding vocals. "I am so proud of 'Passion, Pride and What Might Have Been'" Digby said. "I took extra time in the design of the album and the musical production as well. I wanted this album to be the best that it could be." Digby delves into Country's history catalog with "She Didn't Color Daddy" "Let Me Be The Judge" "Bring Your Love Back To Me" and "One Kiss Away From Loneliness." She honors her dad, Dennis Digby's former boss Loretta Lynn with an outstanding vocal performance on "Love Is The Foundation" and "Deep As your Pocket."Digby makes you believe that she has lived the life of heartache, lost love and the need for the ever present drink in the songs that she delivers in "Passion, Pride and What Might Have Been." Whether singing about the one that got away or the one that she wants to leave, Digby handles each song as if it was written especially for her.The project was produced by Justin Trevino and features such Texas musicians as Jake Hooker, Dicky Overbey (Amber's step dad), Damion O'Grady, Randy Lindley, Dave Biller, Rick Price and Tom Lewis. Country Legend Ronnie Milsap contributed the liner notes. "Amber D. has an amazing voice," Milsap said. "I've watched her develop into one of America's finest traditional country singers." The project ends with a song that sums up the feelings of many of Digby's fans. "We're the Kind of People That Make The Jukebox Play" is the perfect ending ...

| | Chris Thile Not All Who Wander Are Lost CD (2001)
Greatest Hits songs
$15.19 This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
One has to marvel at the recording sessions the folks at Sugar Hill put together. Start with a young, hotshot mandolin player, Chris Thile, then add the cream of new acoustic players, fiddler Stuart Duncan, banjoist Bela Fleck, and dobroist Jerry Douglas, and pack the whole crew into the studio. Add to this a superb title, Not All Who Wander Are Lost, and it's impossible to go wrong. The breezy "Song for a Young Queen" is a joyful opener, laying the groundwork for 60 minutes of innovative acoustic picking. Bach meets Earl Scruggs on the sprightly "Riddles in the Dark," a duo with Bela Fleck featuring a complex intermingling of banjo and mandolin. The peaceful "Sinai to Canaan, Part 1" quietly rises and falls, with Edgar Meyer's bow and bass adding an eerie bottom end. The shifting rhythms, different combinations of instruments, and slightly mysterious air mirror the many ups and downs of a long journey. Jeff Coffin throws the sounds of the tenor sax into the mix on "Club G.R.O.S.S.," a jazzy open-ended piece that might be described as experimental acoustic. Several songs like "Raining at Sunset" and "Big Sam Thompson" clock in at over five minutes, allowing everyone plenty of room for lengthy solos. Not All Who Wander Are Lost is the perfect album for a lazy Sunday afternoon and will please anyone who loves rich, layered, acoustic music. ~ Ronnie D. Lankford, Jr.
