Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on The Fame Monster bears a galvanized Eurotrash finish, as evident on the heavy steel synths of "Bad Romance" and the updated ABBA revision "Alejandro," as it is on the rock & roll ballad "Speechless" -- its big guitars lifted from Noel Gallagher -- and the wonderful, perverse march "Teeth." Even the stuttering splices on "Telephone," a duet with Beyoncé, leans to the other side of the Atlantic, which just emphasizes the otherness that's become Gaga's calling card. And even as she's becoming omnipresent, with her songs mingling with those who co-opt her on the radio, she still is slightly skewed, willing to go so far over the top she goes ...

Digitally remastered by Jimmy Page and George Marino at Sterling Sound. Contains 31 tracks from Led Zeppelin's nine studio albums not included on the original Zeppelin box set. Includes one previously unreleased track and a 48-page booklet featuring photographs, and complete credits. This pivotal quartet was formed in October 1968 by Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, Robert Plant and John Bonham. On Led Zeppelin, Page's staggering dexterity was matched by Plant's expressive, beseeching voice, a combination that flourished on Led Zeppelin II. A greater subtlety was emphasized on Led Zeppelin III, and Led Zeppelin IV included the anthemic 'Stairway To Heaven', 'Black Dog' and 'Rock 'N' Roll'. However, the effusive praise was more muted for Houses Of The Holy. A concurrent US tour helped to finance an in-concert film, issued in 1976 as The Song Remains The Same. Physical Graffiti, a double set, gave full rein to the quartet's diverse interests. Advance orders alone assured Presence platinum status. Although lacking the definition of earlier work, In Through The Out Door was a strong collection on which John Paul Jones emerged as the unifying factor. Rehearsals were then undertaken for another US tour, but in September 1980, Bonham was found dead. On 4 December, Swansong announced that the group had officially retired, although a collection of archive material, Coda, was subsequently issued. Led Zeppelin are now rightly recognized as one of the most influential bands of the rock era. Out-of-print in the US! In its initial vinyl form, Curved Air's debut album is one of the prog rock movement's most prized artifacts -- not for the music (for that, it goes without saying, is flawless), but for the picture-disc format which had never previously graced a 12" rock record. A glimmering of that sought-after magnificence lives on, of course, in the artwork which has graced every subsequent release, this Collectors' Choice reissue included. Sadly, however, no other attempt is made to replicate the original jewel; indeed, beyond a straightforward dub of the album, Air Conditioning's American CD debut is something of a disappointment. No bonus tracks, no liner notes, no remastering -- nothing, in fact, beyond one of the finest classical rock fusions of the age.
