"Munster Rag" was nominated for the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance.
"I'm Gonna Miss Her" was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Best Male Country Vocal Performance.
Here's a story you've heard a thousand times; an artist makes headway in the world of contemporary country pop while maintaining an intrinsic quirkiness and a commitment to real country roots. The difference here is that in Brad Paisley's case it's actually the truth, not just a marketing ploy. While there's a modicum of pop appeal and everyman sensibility to which Paisley's success can be attributed, he's no "hat act." His sense of humor (displayed not only in his lyrics, but in his inclusion of the self-explanatory instrumental "Munster Rag") and his ability to pen quirky, surprising tunes while remaining respectful of the honky-tonk verities make him a kind of blue-collar Lyle Lovett. While he's not as arch and post-modern as ol' LL, Paisley's got more going on upstairs than 99 percent of the cardboard cowboys cluttering up the country charts.

Entertainment Weekly (6/01/01, p.91) - "...Full of old-time Nashville hallmarks...this stylish effort harkens to the best of Alan Jackson, George Strait, and the freewheeling '60s honky-tonkers..." - Rating: B+ Brad Paisley Part II Songs Part II Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) It Hit Home ... I WISH YOU'D STAY ... hit me like a brick ... after my 12 year relationship ended. Great singer. Great songs. Makes you smile, dance, touches your heart, and helps you when the 'brick' falls at your doorstep. Submitted by zbraguy (Lancaster, SC) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Clever and Catchy - some of the BEST stuff out there ... Brad Paisley is joining the ranks of Alan Jackson and George Strait as an artist that you can rely on to deliver fresh and clever songs that you can help but sing along to. This is traditional country at its finest with hints of bluegrass and rockabilly. Buy it and cherish it.
Highlights include:
All you really need is love - (not as mushy as you think)
Never leave harlan alive - (haunting and gorgeous)
Come on over - (catchy and clever)
Too country - (good message)
*** Nevermind - there isn't a filler track on this album. They may not all be GREAT, but most are and the rest are pretty dern good too.

$9.35 I was born in Vera Beach, Florida. My mother and Dad (Virginia & J.L. Story) raised 5 children while commercial catfishing as well as running a restaurant in Florida. My brother and I, along with 3 sisters were baiting and pulling trout lines as soon as we were old enough to start school. Although there wasn't much time for anything other than school work and chores, my parents bought me an 8-track player when I was around 7 yrs. old. From that point on, I was singing my heart out with the likes of Hank Williams, Sr., Charlie Pride, Merle Haggard, George Jones and Johnny Cash. Now days I still like the Legends, but also have my new country favorites like Alan Jackson, Tracy Lawrence, Travis Tritt and George Strait. I also cannot forget my favorite ladies of country music Loretta Lynn and Reba. I moved to Pulaski, TN in the fall of 1995 where I purchased a 20 acre plot of land and began the task of building my home. Still singing every chance I got, which was mostly church singings, I began to sing the good old Southern Gospel. I entered a talent search in 1998, which I managed to win. We produced a 3-song video and discussed the possibility of an album. I returned home to work and let the idea of an album fall by the wayside. I met my wife Tina, while working as a mechanic at the school bus garage in Pulaski. She was a substitue bus driver at the time. I proposed to her in the middle of Walmart and we were married a few months later (July 28, 2000). She and I have been performing for the local nursing home and churches since then. She started introducing me to the world of Internet and got me back into some country music auditions. She has managed to help me get some songs recorded and played on local radio and is in the process of having a website built. ...
